The show last night on Kimmel Live was bad....Jeesus that was Bad
Apparently DLR Nailed his nose with his Mic stand while flipping it around and had to delay the showing until he got it fixed up.

He looked like he was in pain and was way off while gasping for air while singing.
Hopefully he's better by the next "show" to see what they have for the tour

I forgot to watch the show but here's a video of it:

They weren't "that" bad. Eddie looks good. Although I liked the DLR years the best that dude is just a big friggin' goof. He really is bad live, even back when I saw them in '84.

It's almost like back when they recorded the originals they must have done some heavy editing and a bazillion takes cause in the studio they are money. Smile

If I paid money for THAT, I'd have been pissed. DLR sucked, although the rest of the boys seemed on it.

Sorry Man, I'm thinking twice about going to see them. Eddie and Alex were spot on as usual. I would pay just to go see them two play with no front man belting out of tune, Dave can't even come close to hitting the high notes... hopefully it was because of the hit he took from his "Metal Staff" not his MIC holder like I said above. Guess he went to the Hospital after the 7 set concert and had to get 14 stitches! damn thats tough, no wonder he was gasping.
Just not Van Halen without Michael Anthony. Wolfy can stay home and eat play video games, and whats up with that? Is there Obesity in Valerie Bertinelli Family or does Wolfgang like his junk food? Sorry, just don't see a kid from Eddie and Valerie being that big.

Started laughing when they showed the crowd and half the dudes were bald and head-bobbing. That would be me but with a full head of black & Gray hair...Wink
I hope things get better...alot better by the time they roll through Denver and the band is hyped to the fact they never played at Red Rocks and put on a killer show.

There is so much fail in that ink. Smile But, I have to go back on what I said earlier. I watched the performance last night on Kimmel (missed the first night live) and I have to say I thought it was pretty good, even with Diamond Dave's goofiness. I didn't think Wolfgang was that bad. Dave is just Dave, but without Dave I don't think Van Halen is Van Halen. Dave is certainly "nothing" without Van Halen however. I thought it was good to see them up there doing it. I still can't get over how good Eddie is looking. Did he quit smoking and whatever else he might have been doing? He looks so healthy. Last time I saw him he looked frail.

After watching that video I'm almost convinced that when I saw them back in '84 Dave wasn't accidentally fucking up the lyrics. He was doing it on purpose. I was expecting (and wanting) to hear him sing like the album and I think he just doesn't do that. Eddie was great. I would like to hear Dave sing closer to the original that I know and love but I understand wanting to change it up. Then again, maybe he just can't replicate it.

Drl never has been able to cover his studio stuff. Hell I knew this 30 yrs ago. If your expecting perfection from him your living in a fantasy world. Smile
We covered a lot pf VH in the 80/90s and you have to basicly re wright the songs to cover the and Ed guitar here is basic and not close to the album. I enjoyed it, it's much easier to like when you know how difficult it is to actually do what they do. PS they sound way to sober. LOL

Har!........" If your expecting perfection from him your living in a fantasy world." Whats perfection?
How about being in tune or even starting in time with the song?

No one is asking for perfection (Except maybe Eddie) but being able to sing the Fucking song would be fine.
Many Bands that are still kickin it for 30..40 years now sing songs from their first album still sound as good.

For instance The Rolling Stones, Aerosmith even ACDC sound as great as they were 30 years ago, it's not as hard as you put it...hell if I did something for 30 years I would be doing it in my sleep.

I bet it does get tiring to do the same song over and over and over and fucking over but you know what? thats what the people expect that buy a ticket, to have somewhat of the original song sang even if the lyrics are changed a bit but to have a great singer sing it the way it was meant to be sung. And in rhythm with the instruments being played.

Thats not what DLR was doing and I have to think he was hurting quite a bit from the Gash on his nose.
As stated, I hope thats what his problem is and in time the band will sound great

DLR is an empty shadow of his former self. Just pitiful. Eddie/Alex/Wolfgang are a Mean Machine but Dave looks and sounds like someone's speedfreak uncle doing karaoke. All the cute quips and karate moves in the world won't change the fact that he has no business taking the stage with that powerhouse of a band. I'll bet there were at least 50 fans in the audience who wold have done a waaaay better job than Dave. If they make it through the tour it'll be a miracle. I was rootin' for Dave and LOATHE Sammy (as a performer) but they'd be much better off with Sammy than what's left of DLR. Sad.

DLR was never a great singer. Ever heard the extracted Vocals from 1978 RWD?

He sucks worse now. Hard to believe.
