Came into work this morning to find everyone huddled around one PC giggling like a bunch of schoolgirls, so come on then fellas, what colour do you see? Black and blue, or white and gold?

It's definitely black and blue, but even people in my office are adamant that it's white and gold... even when they look at the photo that's blatantly black and blue. Needless to say all those that saw white and gold wear glasses, so what does that tell you... Grinning

No matter how I skew my vision, it's white and gold in the first picture. It's a bizarre concept for sure. The Chive did a write up of why it appears to be different colors to different people. I don't wear glasses.

I see white and gold in all 3 of those pics (well, all of the pics on this page actually). Is it not? At best it is an extremely light shade of blue (very close to white) but the gold certainly is not black. Maybe tan if not gold.

Must be all the coal power plant pollution in NY.

I see, white/ gold, greyish white/tan and blue/black.

What do I win for getting the right answer? Does this mean I am able to see all points of view and thus I am deemed a reasonable person? I thought so.

Well it's obviously not black. I have black on my bikes in my avatar and none of it matches that. Also there are black lines connecting the circles of color in the one picture above, none of the circles match the black line so there is no way it is black. Black as an RGB value of 000. This is black:

My wife text it to me and I said white/gold. Then I scrolled back up and it was blue/black. I think it depends on where you're looking at it and what your brain perceives the lighting to be. Scrolling down I think I assumed it was in poor lighting and had shadows. Scrolling back up I think I saw it for what it was. Anyone ever watch Brain Games on tv? They regularly explain how your brain automatically draws conclusions about an object based on surroundings and past experiences, as opposed to seeing things for what they are.

I have looked at this thing in every way possible except standing on my head, I see white and gold from every view. I used to not wear glasses but I've gotten to where I now need readers to see smaller print.

I had never had nor seen a color blind test before. one day I take my youngest son in to see an optometrist, don't remember why, and they give him this book and ask him to read the numbers, he starts rambling off these numbers and I'm like WTF are you looking at, I was sitting where I could also see the book and they were nowhere near the numbers I was seeing. come to find out he's color blind to certain ranges of colors. it was weird as shit. when the lady took us back thru the books I could actually see his numbers if I focused just right but he couldn't see mine at all. I've always given my wife shit about being color blind because we rarely agree on things with a gray or light blue to them but she swears she passed the test same as me when she took him lol.

This is why you can't buy everything on the internet.
Sometimes you get it and it is a completely different color than what you expected.

I ordered some gray shoes, or what looked to be gray online, and then when I got them they were black as night.

I see light blue and a dark gold/light black in the picture...

The pic at the top of the thread, it looks white/gold without a shadow of a doubt.. But when I scroll down so that the top of the picture is out of my frame it turns blue/black. I can scroll up/down on it and it changes back and forth.

Sometimes you can't even buy things in person. I stopped by a car lot and looked at a truck one rainy night. It was everything I wanted, black exterior, grey interior, extra cab, the big engine, manual trans, 4WD, everything. I test drove it, talked to the salesman a while, and negotiated a little bit. But, being that it was raining, I told the salesman I'd come back tomorrow to check it out after the rain stopped so I could see what kind of shape the body was in(rain hides dents/scratches pretty well). So I come back the next day ready to negotiate and the truck was PURPLE! So glad I didn't buy it the night before.
