Growing up in Southern California, I'm fascinated by these things and I'm learning a little more all the time. Spent some time with the Boondocker boys who brought me up to speed.

Always dreamed of ripping through the snow for miles and miles on one of those. Looks bad ass.

2000 SXR- one of the best handling sleds ever built..

Here is a vintage pic of my old mountain max..mountain perf tunnel, carbon fiber hood, pod, air box, and belt guard. SLP 800 triple with SLP pipes, titanium spindles, and a prototype blue tank..this sled ripped!

You are exactly right on my '00 triple. Great sled. Could never get rid of it.

Yours looks like a BEAST! That thing must have got all the looks back then. That track is gnarly.

Hell yeah! We still have tons of those things come in for pre-season preps every season, guys just won't stop riding them!

Now that Yamaha and Cat are working together, I'd like to see Yamaha come back out with a new 700 triple in their new Cat chassis. Guys would snatch those up like hot cakes.

i'm on the snowmobile Search and Rescue and get some sweet deals from BCA and Motorfist. just got my new avalanche vest and my new bibs/coat. the Motorfist stuff is amazing quality and amazing attention to detail. after wearing both i honestly think it's on par with or maybe even a little better than KLIM (this coming from a long-time KLIM supporter/customer)

hope i never have to blow this sucker off in the back-country, but i'll be happy to have it if i ever do. we're getting pounded in the mountains right now, which usually means trouble this early in the season.

also been doing some beacon/probe/shovel/search training. pretty fuckin' scary how little i've known about actually performing a search in the event of an avalanche until i started training. i'm making it a big point that everyone i ride with this year knows how to access their beacon (quickly) and switch it to search and knows how to perform a proper search. everyone i ride with wears a beacon, but nobody knows how to operate them properly.

that said, can't wait to start riding! hoping for a ton of Utah POW this winter!

I'd give one a try before you buy if you can. We had a gen4 Renegade X come in that had some issues with the tunnel so we're anxious to see how they hold up this season. The technician was trying to get the tunnel unhooked from the bottom of the skid (they come compressed together when they're in the crate) and as he was trying to push the tunnel down to relieve the pressure, the tunnel folded down over the track. Like a cooked lasagna noodle. Needless to say, that customer decided to keep his 800...

So yeah, give it some time first to see how they hold up. We've got a demo 850 this year too, so I'm excited to see how it does, but damn that's gonna be tickling the back of my brain the whole time I'm riding...
