Did the right side 8 years ago now it's the left. I knew it was only a matter of time. Dad and brother both had them. Cost for surgery has not gone up but not that much since my last one. It was about $3200.00 I think. This one will be about $3800.00. Most of the increase seems to be the anesthesiologist. No cash discount I guess. This time I get the robot. No 4" stapled up gash like the other one. I have 3 days to squeeze in some golf before I go on the DL.

Hernia. Sorry.
Pretty routine and quick. I go in at 6:00 and will probably be home by noon. The hospital is 5 minutes away. Thanks though.

Damn borg, take care of yourself buddy! Good luck on the surgery!
Piece of cake Void. My problems are light work compared a lot of people. Not sure if I could handle what you had to deal with.

Well day one of "recovery". I got up this morning, went to target to get a pickling jar then went to the plumbing supply to order parts for a shower valve. Came home and made the pickled eggs. BTW for maybe some of you who have heard of Joe Josts in Long beach, I used their recipe. Anyway, I think the pain threshold thing comes from age. Young people have a much tougher time with it where people my age are used to having aches and pains EVERY DAY somewhere. The mild pain and discomfort I feel from the surgery blends right in with the rest of em. I went in at 6:00 am and got home at about 11:30 and took a little nap. Anyway, all's well. Hopefully be back on the golf course in a couple weeks. Will be back to regular work probably Friday. All have to do to is repair a shower valve. No lifting or straining.

They gave me scrip for some Acet/codeine ($32). Wasn't sure if i would need them. I took one last night before bed just to make sure I could sleep. Got up this morning and no need. So yeah, I have 49 of the goddam things. They gave me a stool softener too which is a good idea. You dont need to be power pushing on the john after hernia surgery especially since they did my belly button too on the drive by to the inguinal. It's the belly button that hurts when I cough. I'll just hang on to the Acet/codeine. I don't like taking pain meds though unless it's really bad.

Welcome back! Yeah, being old sucks. I am in pain 24x7. Sad
It's always something. My back is off and on. I'm lucky because I know people that have back pain that never stops. I have some turbo Naproxin for that when it hits me. The rotator in the right shoulder and various arthritic shit all over but all in all I'm doing just fine at 62. I can still work and play golf. What else is there. Oh shit this is a moto site. Had to hang that up though.

Tell you what a nurse told me "sneeze up". It helps.
