X2 and take the service manager for a ride when it is misfiring so they cant say "it ran fine for us" put him on the spot so he will get involved personally and even if they cant figure it out they will be inclined to get a hold of Subaru tech support.

Yep the car only has 15k on it. And I plan to. I just could not believe bad the technicians were and how the Subaru of America rep basically was no help at all. Also the fact that the other dealer is about an hour away and does not do loaner vehicles makes it a pain as well.

Sounds more like a dealer problem than a customer service problem. They get busy and make mistakes, but should correct it and make things right.

The other posters have given you good advice.

Curious what you wanted from Corporate? They do not run the dealer and have no power over the dealer or its employees. They honestly can't do shit to the dealer, and the dealers know it.

Corp really only gets involved once the lemon law comes in to play. I know it is shitty, but the dealer is reponsible for repairs.

Just out of curiosity, any mods to the WRX? Most seem to have had some additions by the time they hit 15K.

Nope 100% stock. Mainly for the reason of not voiding the warrenty.

I just wanted to see a little bit more compassion for the customer other than a generic copy and paste. It does not make you confident in a product when the people who are trained to fix them can't not fix them and make careless mistakes(i realize that is one dealership and is probably a reflection of that dealer specifically)

Well they actually acknowledged the issue. They drove it 20miles with the computer hooked up and said each cylinder had a misfire. They suggested it was bad fuel. I told them that's not the case since it had been filled up 3 times since I noticed the issue from 2 different busy gas stations. They said they don't it is, cleared the code and sent me on my way. I did some research on the wrx forums and it appears that this is a common issue that's fixed by saudering a connection of 4 ground wires. I'm against doing that since I know they would be inclined to void the warrenty then.

I've heard nothing but horror stories from Subapoo owners. My parents had one and the cylinders were bored out of round, had to be rebuilt at 60,000 miles. Buddy has had two with nothing but problems. Most of it is related to the PZEV bullshit, valvetrain is crap. But what I hate most about Subapoo is their stupid commercials, comparing owning one of those heaps to "LOVE'.

Whats crazy..... The only reliable goobaroos are the highly modified ones. Owners fix all of the sloppy mistakes from the factory..

Well damn, my wife are/were gonna go test drive and possibly buy a forester xt on Monday. It's weird because my neighbor has owned 3 over the years and absolutely loves them. I have two other friends that have subarus and they haven't had any problems at all and love them. I have heard the old ones weren't known to be the greatest vehicles, but I've heard nothing but great things about the new ones.

I was a huge fan of Subaru. Odds are that I just have a real bad dealer. But that being said I won't buy another one if the local dealer cannot service it.

There are always lemons out there. Sometime people just get unlucky and get a bad one. My 08 Impreza with 93,000 miles has given me zero problems. I don't plan on shopping for a new car until around 150,000. So you could say my experience has been good.

I had bad experiences With Mazda and Nissan. That was in the 90s. I know they are both different cars now. I still don't care for Nissan but I'm looking at the CX-5 or 7 for my wife. Maybe a Mazda 3 when I'm ready for a new car.

Save yourself the grief. The Mazdas still suck. We had 3 cx-7's, all returned to the dealer for various bs. Electrical, leaks, etc. Our mazda dealership ended up closing.

I found a buyer for my 04 wrx wagon and he had it inspected at Bend's subie dealership. It was rather comical when what I thought was a blow off valve making noise was nothing more than a broken vacuum hose. No, the mechanic didn't discover it, we did after he released it with him watching us find the problem our self. Blink

I ordered a 2015 Outback a month ago and it's suppose to be here tomorrow.

I have heard nothing but good about Subaru.

Would have heard only good from me about 2 months ago. A coworker of mine has a 15 outback and seems to like it. Said the gas mileage is great and has a much better interior than the previous outback he had. The previous one was an xt and he claimed to have a lot of rough idling issues that he was never able to figure out similar to what I'm experiencing with mine.

My family has sold quite a few 3s on their used lot and the customers have seemed to have good luck. Cx7 was a different story. They only had one and that was enough for them. Had to replace the turbo and wheel bearing shortly after purchasing.

Went to the dealer today to test drive them. Loved it. Going back Thursday to buy it. Tried to get my wife to go for the xt but she didn't like the way it looked. I just wanted the turbo haha. I guess I won't push it too much since it's gonna be for her

I picked my Outback up last night. They are selling them as fast as they get them in.

Just picked up our Forester this morning, as well. They are selling like crazy. I bet the lot has sold about 1/4 of the inventory just since we were there on Monday.

We are in the market for a Forester. Great vehicles! Time to get rid of our Hyundai Santa Fe with 250,000 miles.

Again not saying they are bad veichles. This is the first issue I have had with my new Subaru (granted it happened at 15k miles which is a bit unsettling). But my bigger concern was response I got from Subaru of America and the Subaru dealer. The other two subarus I owned both had over 250k on them and ran great. One blew a head gasket and needed a new wheel bearing but that's a common problems on them in the early 2000s, but other than that they were very dependable.

Have you thought about bypassing the dealer and contacting corporate?

Yea, after disappointing service twice I wrote an email to Subaru of America. After not hearing from them for 2 weeks I tried calling. Got tired of being on hold so I wrote another email suggesting that if the problem doesn't get addressed I will go through the better business bureau. The next day I got a short response of "sorry you are disappointed, if the check engine light is on take it to the nearest dealer. Your car still has warrenty left." Basically telling me what I already knew and not addressing the issue with the service.
