I never understood surfing. Especially by yourself, as the sun is setting....it's like you are setting yourself up to get gobbled by a scary something.

Hard to explain to someone. Been doing it since I was a kid, haven't been able to do it for a few years but it is always in there somewhere. Yes, sitting late in the afternoon until the sun goes down is not the smartest thing in some areas, I have done it many times in areas where it wasn't very smart. It's called a Darwin award.

seeing that wall of water come down reminded me of the "car wash" video posted the other day. The water dump destroyed that car.

Once it's in your blood I don't think you really ever get over it. You tone it down as you get older but I can't think of anything else that makes me feel at peace more than going out with some friends.
