No, it was a twin engine Cessna that had just taken off from John Wayne in Orange County when it lost it's right engine. The pilot was trying to circle around to land and the plane literally fell out of the sky onto the 405, clipping the center divider and ending up in the right two lanes of the southbound portion. Dead nuts in-line with the runway, just a 1/4 mile short.

John Wayne (SNA) was never meant to become what it is. This will not be the last 'event' there, unfortunately.

Burbank/Bob Hope is the same, maybe even worse since you Whiteman, and Van Nuys (which gets a ton of private Jets) adding planes to the San Fernando Valley. Van Nuys landing/take off pattern in perpendicular to the landing path of Burbank.

Not to mention Burbank/BHope's T.O./Landing flight path is entirely over residential housing. Depending on how the wind is blowing, they are maybe only 500 feet over my place on approach, and I'm only 1/2 a mile west from Universal Studios.
