I applaud Putin for doing something. There are no "moderate" rebels in Syria, they are fundamentalists and need to be wiped out. The West arms fundamentalists to overthrow governments they don´t like, so they can get a friendly government. This to strengthen Middle Eastern influence, make Israel and the Gulf states happy, and remove Russian influence.

Russia has several bases in Syria, and has used Syria as a base for their Mediterranean fleet, along with the one in Ukraine which NATO surrounded.

We in the Western world fought a war against terrorism and now we are supporting the same fundamentalist shitbags with weapons and the Koran. It´s a disgrace! We arm the ones responsible for the use of chemical weapons in Syria - so much for our humanitarian and peaceful concerns, right?

Russia gets to protect its interests, its allies and kill thousands of Chechens jihadists who have gone to Syria to fight the conservative Sunni war against a secular regime. Go Putin!!

Also, todays Russian bombing is being blown way out of proportions. It is perfectly normal to tell NATO aircraft to stay out while they carry out their missions, just like it is for NATO to do when they rund exercises or bombing campaigns.

only person in here with the facts. obviously has seen the behind the scenes videos of whats really going on and the people we are really arming and how 'moderate' they are.

putin is going to annihilate these idiots and i cant wait to watch all the videos online.

john mccain is sad right now that his kidnapping terrorist 'moderate' friends may be in danger.

If you think that's the only post here with facts, you aren't reading very closely. In fact the term "war on terrorism" is nothing more than a fabrication by the US government and defense contractors.

This is nothing new. Reagan supported Saddam, then his VP went after Saddam when Saddam threatened his Arab friends and oil interests in Saudi Arabia. Reagan supported Muslim "rebels" (terrorists?) in Afghanistan...
Our foreign policy is incredibly short-sighted, always has been.
What would be the response today if we supported Iran during that war?

This is more about russia keeping assad in control of syria than anything else. The uae amd saudi arabia have been building natural gas pipelines and storing natural gas with the hopes of the us strategy ousting assad and giving them control of the only gateway for a pipeline to europe.
Putin knows if that happens, russia loses its only grip on the neck of western europe. All of the eu is under putins thumb for natural gas. He does not want the pipeline coming in and bringing competition. The eu does everything putin asks, if they dont, he cuts off 95% of their natural gas supply overnight.
This isnt about isis or alquada as much as it is about preserving russias economy and choking the arab gas lines.
Who is russia bombing? It isnt the guys we are calling enemys. Its the guys we are arming and training. Remember, our leadership wants assad out. Russia wants assad to stay put. Russia just opened the bomb bays. We tucked and ran. Russia will continue to control natural gas in europe for a long while.

Valid point, but what I find disturbing is that unlike back then, we have access to the information today. It´s all out there in the open. So in a way, they should not be able to get away with it today. I have yet to find a Western journalist or reporter question this on national TV, and that worries me.

Also, the Mujahideen was not an enemy during the Soviet-Afghan war, they became one later 20 years later. In the current Syrian conflict, the fundamentalists are current enemies in Iraq and Afghanistan and on home turf, but they are being supported with advanced weapons and money in Syria. That is vastly different and IMO way worse.
We have a lot more information today, but that doesn't solve the problem.

The US government-military industrial complex is a massive beast. It's going to take more than a few angry tweets or Facebook memes to change that.

You're right about the Mujahideen. Bin Laden worked for the CIA in the 80s. The one single thing that pissed him off the most about the US was the military bases that remained in Saudi Arabia after Gulf War I. I am not a foreign policy expert, but we have underestimated the Muslim leaders for a long, long time. They know it.
A lot of the Al Qaeda leaders were educated in the US and know all about us. The public is being sold a very simplistic story.

Putin better knock it off or he'll be risking himself the ultimate price... being left off the recipient list for the POTUS's holiday card.

Putin signs decree drafting 150,000 conscripts into the Russian military... as Iran and Hezbollah prepare major ground offensive in Syria with air support from Moscow's bombers

BO has shown over and over again he has no stomach for this sort of thing. He's Putin's bitch and Putin knows it.

Hell, remember when he shot down MH17? What did BO do then? Zip-Nada-nothing.

both the US and Russia have played with countries like this for years, pushing there own interests under the guise of helping the people, neither side is clean in regards to Syria, or the rest of the middle east,

but Putin does seem more aggressive at the moment, however putting massive money into uncontrollable rebel forces has never really worked out well in the long term for the US either,

Assad will eventually exile in Russia after a pro-Assad successor has been vetted by Putin. This snuffs out USA Inc.'s demand for regime change as the 'secondary-driving force' supporting their "primary claim" of hunting IS. Of course, as noted above, it's all about the flow of NG and the rest is the bounty of winning a war. Winter is coming soon. Stay warm, my european friends, stay warm. Hegemony, hegemony, hegemony...... Both of these 'corporations' are playing the same game. Don't believe otherwise.

They have been there for years already, just youtube "rebels shoot down helicopter" and behold terrorists shouting "allah o akbar" to the view of your tax moneys work in the hands of terrorists.

Saw the US were pissed off as some of the terrorists being bombed by Russia are "US backed moderate rebels", more specifically the FSA. You can watch their beheadings, torture and eating regime supporters too on both Youtube and Google

I hope this is something that all can agree with Vlad on...
(copied from that NY Times article)...
When the Russian president, Vladimir V. Putin, called on his Western rivals this week to join his country and the Syrian government to defeat the Islamic State, he clearly poked at European concerns, saying, “Then, dear friends, there would be no need for new refugee camps.”

Put all else aside, at least for now, and lets all get this done.
See, we all have something in common!

First we had economic crisis and now refugees crisis don't know which is worse but being warned
that two out of every 100 refugees coming from Syria could be fanatics trained by the Islamic State is not very hopeful

Will check them out later. Do they access to any SAMs that are capable of shooting down Russian aircraft?

Have to wonder who picks these particular men to train and use these tow systems.

Saudi men trained by special forces or is that a wild guess?

THIS is a fact jack. Read it, understand it. Putin a humanitarian? pffffftttttt Obama just got bitch slapped again. Funny how many Americans still have no idea Russia is bombing the people we are supporting against Assad.
GREAT example of a statist media lying to the public for a political agenda.

But hey, how about that ass on Kim Kardashian?

Those people over there have been fighting since the 7th century. They only seem to know power and absolute power. Pull everything out and turn off the funding of every country over. Then make it very clear that if the U.S. is attacked in any way shape or form then the response will be of biblical proportions. Then see who has the balls to do it.

Take all that money saved on aid to pay Vets and the things they need from all these proxy wars of the people in power.

Turkey doesn´t have F15´s, and I don´t think Russia has deployed Mig 29´s in Syria, but I do know the Syrian airforce has them
