First off, if we didn't have lawyers and our prison system counting on the drug 'war' to enslave americans and big business counting on illegal workers to fill trade positions once held by middle class americans why couldn't we already. We are said to have over 20,000 border agents, drones, choppers, trucks and all kinds of equipment for all of them but we can't keep them out? We almost employ enough people to damn near hold hands across the border. Since rick perry had to go around obama to send his own national guard to the border, surely we are secure now? In the proposed immigration bill there are 20,000 more border patrol. With the kind of money and man-power we have spent, I want to be the border patrol Czar! How inept can law enforcement be?

The logical answer to securing the border is to secure the border first then decide what to do with all the illegals. But any time they try to pass any measures to control the border, they want to address all of the illegals here already along with the border control.

I wish they'd quit sword fighting and measuring dicks and just secure the damn border. . . Both sides are so concerned that they're going to lose the fight over what to do with the illegals already here that they won't make any progress on building a wall or whatever the answer is. . .

There needs to be a widespread military operation to forcefully remove the illegals and then we can tell obama to fuck off while we close the border. These idiots get too many votes from these uneducated tards to close the border. It is all politics.

While i'm all for sending the fuks back home and reversing (maybe not retrospectively for fairness?) the anchor baby law, grand parents or who ever can go back with them if they want to be with their family, as far as i know illegals aren't allowed to vote. I think...right now..... that the legal mexi's are standing up for the illegals because they know how they became citizens. They were born here.

I completely agree it should be two separate issues! I feel like the big business donors from both sides don't want either to happen.
Having been a contractor i've had a not so soft spot for immigrants. Sometimes i feel like a big meany but they cost me a future. I was doing very well before they stole the show in construction.

so you would need a fence that was tall enough not to scale, durable enough not to break down, and permanent.
so basically like 1500miles of continuous north atlantic wall. sounds pretty easy to pull off.
lol.

2,000 miles of fence. How good are our guns? I realize that in the city we can't hit a nig ten feet away but, if ya got a job on the border i hope we expect more. Can ya tell i don't expect much from our LEO's?

I bet ya me and Delta disagree on a lot of things, but either of us could secure our border with the money and people allotted.

The US is just too big to secure.

If some dude that just walked 200 miles through the desert, speaks no English wears rags for clothes and has three teeth... takes your job.
Well, you got bigger issues than immigration. Not saying it's not an issue, the job argument is hollow.
All the old arguments are hollow. Don't try and shoehorn 1950s ideology into today's society. You'll be over-educated, outsourced and automated in about five seconds.

My bad, I figured the "haha" at the end would help imply I was just being a smart ass.

I'm wondering why the Southern Border was never militarized, and if this ever came to a vote? I was thinking that it did, sometime around the LBJ era or before.

put a 100 yard mine field along the southern border along with electric razor wire, and drones with machine guns patrolling the border. That will secure it!

This problem is so basic and easy to solve yet we sit here debating a solution while the problem rages on.

Yeah I saw that. Whenever I bang on Democrat economic issues the threads get clicked. I guess I need to figure out what's ok and what's not.

First thing you do is stop implying Amnesty that will slow the traffic down, then you make some serious limits on money being transferred from USA to Mexico, and stop letting the Law breakers go free to come back and do worse crimes.

I don't care what it does to our economy if they are here illegally they have to be sent back , They come because they know nothing is going to happen to them.

Then lets talk about security.

Israel is 1/100th the size of the U.S.

They built a wall 500 miles long that keeps out terrorists.

We can't seem to build a wall 4 times that size. (2K miles).

Something doesn't add up.

We are to busy paying to keep Israel alive!
Bullshit, if We got out of the Way Israel would wipe out the Palestinians and it would be over.

if anything We have diplomatically kept this war going for many years.

They could with the weapons our support has given them. Left on their own they would have been ran out again. They never could have been able to have any sort of stable economy and wouldn't be able to afford nukes and missile defenses and planes.

Its too late for securing the Southern Border. Its also too late to keep all the terrorists out. All the terrorists and illegals are here to stay. Enforcement and the Constitution are unpopular and politically incorrect in the US now. We've pretty much opened up our Southern Border to Mexico for the last 30+ years or so, with no real enforcement. Sure, this admin has taken it to a whole new level, but there is no going back. So now, standard operating procedure is just waiting until the inevitable collapse.

This administration or the one 30 years ago? That one was the one that gave the ok to 'come on over'?
