Santa Ana winds in So Cal are very destructive, just as the Diablo winds that fueled the Santa Rosa and Sonoma destruction.

Until it rains and greens up, its very sketchy. Its actually worse when it rains because shit grows and always goes brown in April and May anyway.

After record rains, and some decent rains prior to this photo this is Nor Cal a few weeks ago during the shooting deal. It's Dry as hell.

Shit looks terrible on the news. It seems like the momentum of the fire would slow down when it started to get into more and more housing areas, but with the wind it must just be like a blast furnace.

Our fires up here can be pretty bad, but our population density is so minuscule compared to that area that we don't lose nearly as many homes. We probably irrigate around our more remote homesites quite a bit more and have a lot more "green space".

Looked like it was just about on the north edge of the UCLA campus? Holy shit, that's the middle of a city involved in an inferno!

I live out by the lake. Luckly the fire crews were able to keep it to the south of the lake, east of me at creek road and to the north by the topa topa’s. They did a great job of protecting the valley the best they could. These are pics showing the fire about a mile from my house in different directions
