The long time MC faces opposition from PETA...
DMX, the New York rapper, has been arrested on suspicion of animal cruelty and felony drug possession.
Although the rapper has voiced love for his pets (Boomer) in his music it seems that he may have been mistreating his current Dogs.
The Rapper, real name Earl Simmons, had his property raided in August 2007, which led to the discovery of three dogs buried in his garden and the confiscation of 12 dogs that were described as malnourished.
Following the recent arrest, the organisation, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) have sent a letter to Attorney Andrew P. Thomas to urge him to imprison Mr. Simmons.
In support of their argument PETA give reference to DMX’s probation period in 2002 after he pleaded guilty to 13 cases of animal abuse, the PETA caseworker has requested that he is prosecuted to the full extent of the law.

It's easier on rappers than athletes. They get "street cred" for doing time and he will sell twice as many records. Now he's gonna be core!

Kind of a blanket statement, don't ya think? I will agree, however, that DMX is an asshole. I have an amusing story about him from my days of living in Vegas. Suffice to say that he is every bit the dirtbag that he is made out to be, & I experienced it first hand. He was arrested last week for going 100MPH+ in Scottsdale, too. He'll probably go to jail for 6 months, then get out & write an album about it & make $10 million. That's how this ass-backwards society works...//TJ Fax mentis incedium gloriae

I love old school rap...the new shit does nothing for me. PE, NWA, EPMD, Eric B and Rakim, etc...
G-Man...you should say you hate Mentally Ill people...DMX is a certified loon. Just like Dirty ol Bastard. He just happens to be a rapper and he's in the news. The guy should be on some kind of meds. Paranoid, delusional, and a drug addiction don't help him.
He's gonna be Phil Spector one day. Phil Spector is still worst than him and I don't say, Man, I hate record producers. Let World Wag

C'mon G-man you can do better than that. I agree that DMX needs help, but why take down a whole group of people based on the actions of DMX? Remember when a famous factory riders mechanic did something really bad some years ago? I think most people were able to figure out that that particular person was responsible for it - not all MX mechanics.
I bet Live Nation thinks rapper Jay-Z and his 150 million dollar deal is pretty alright.

Ok well maybe I should change it to RAP MUSIC SUCKS! Sorry man, just never been a fan of it to call it "music" is a stretch, when the majority of the lyrics is Fuck the ho in da ass etc.... I guess when I see former gangsters who are now raking in million's "rapping" and today's youth looks up to them and think it's cool to have no respect for no one or anything then it pisses me off more. These guys shoot & kill each other like no other's in the music industry. Coincedence? I think not. And btw it is not a racial thing with me as I grew up a Rock & Roller and the Blues is probably some of my favorite music right now. Scroll down to the Robert Cray thread--just saw him in concert for the 3rd time lastnight and absolutely dig his MUSIC. I also have learned to like old school stuff like the Temptations etc.

I like Rap....I like more of the real stuff.
All you old timers only hear what your wanna be cool kids are listening too.
There are still real rappers out there, such as Jedi Mind Tricks, Immortal Technique, ect.
Its not really lyrics that attract the youth, its the music in the background the beats, I do listen to some new rappers, such as young jeezy, but his raps tell a story of his life, i like that, its not "beat dat hoe" "puff puff pass" plus his beats get me amazingly pumped up to go ride. I will admit though although of the main stream rap is crap.
Just my opinion, I was never really a big rap fan, but got into it a little more when i needed a little something more to get me going, nothing will ever beat out my love for rock.
Local H, Oasis, Foo Fighters, Queens Of the stone age, Eagles of Death Metal, Silverchair, ect will always rock the world, and be true to the meaning of the word "Music"

Tell it. Record producers are some of the most over-rated, abusive, egocentric maniacal bastards around. There are a few good seeds, but the vast majority of them are assholes.

While I agree with you wpcjs, at least the metal guys are attempting to play instruments. The same cannot be said for the rap. It's good for the leaders, that the people don't think...[i:d32d2]Adolph Hitler[/i:d32d2]

On this note, can anyone answer this question?
Why would you want to sit in a car with 7 gagillion watts of bass rattling the bolts out of the trunk lid? I see it daily, some car rolls up to the light, and I can no longer hear my radio, and all I CAN hear is THUMP,THUMP,THUMP, and shit rattling off the POS Nissan Sentra. I just don't get it.
Insight anyone? It's good for the leaders, that the people don't think...[i:d32d2]Adolph Hitler[/i:d32d2]

Sure some rap music sucks, some metal sucks; just like any other genre of music. It's cool to have choices. Personally, I listen to podcasts most of the time and like listening to the artists talk about the making of the music.
I'm a Halford fan from the "Point of Entry" and "Screaming for Vengeance" days. Cool to see him get some respect on this board.

It sounds like you might have sold this guy one of those hundred dollar bags you were referring to in oldfarts airline bag thread.
From your reply, it appears that you might have taken a pinch or two out of his bag for yourself.
