All Qatar Airlines flights denied entering Bahrain, U.A.E and Saudi airspace starting tomorrow (06-06-2017) due to being accused of cooperating with terrorism. Consequence will probably be most part of QR registered aircraft will stay on the ground until further notice. If you're travelling try alternative routes and airlines.

Travel ban?
Not exactly. U.A.E, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and more countries to come have cut ties with Qatar. Both diplomatic and economical.

Qatar Airlines is one of the largest airlines operating out of that area, with their surrounding countries forbidding them from flying in their airspace leaves very few options left with Qatar being a very small country areavise. The only option left is very limited and is to enter Qatar airspace through a small corridor from Iran. With their large fleet and routes to over 150 destinations it will hit the airline and its passengers hard.

"Abu Dhabi, UAE (CNN)Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Egypt and the United Arab Emirates have broken off relations with Qatar, in the worst diplomatic crisis to hit Gulf Arab states in decades.
The three Gulf countries and Egypt have accused Qatar of supporting terrorism and destabilizing the region. Qatar -- which shares its only land border with Saudi Arabia -- has rejected the accusations calling them "unjustified" and "baseless". Yemen and the Maldives also cut ties with Qatar.
Qatari citizens have been told they have 14 days to leave Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and the UAE, while those countries also banned their own citizens from entering Qatar. "

Isn't that what the whole mess over there is about?

Sounds like the Saudis don't want to waste any time with those new American weapons wasting away in storage.

Qatar is predominately Sunni. It probably has more to do with supporting Isis and Al Qaeda.

That's a big part of the problem (especially in the 80's) now it's mostly a struggle for power of religious factions with kings and dictators.

Good thing the Qatar MotoGP already happened.
There's another "little" event there in 2022. Men's World Cup. Time re-open the bids.

That will suck for a ton of Expats in Bahrain, UAE and Saudi wanting to get back to the US. I know I tried to fly them only when I lived in Saudi last year. That airport is awesome. Damn Sunnis and Shias, all over who the rightful heir to Mohammeds direction after his death was, and still fighting 1400 years later. Worse than the Hatfields and McCoys.
