Mike Friend, aka Premixer, KTM250MIKE, ended his three year battle with cancer this morning.
In true form, Mike spent the past 3 years living his life to the fullest and spending every second he could with his family and friends. Through all of the treatments he never let it get him down, he worked overtime every week and he went to and raced in every TORN series race that he could. This man was so determined to not show any weakness to his cancer. He would have chemo treatment on a Thursday and show up at the Races with his daughter on Saturday.
Through all of it, his faith in God never waivered. He left his fate with his Lord and Savior. That faith carried him 2.5 years beyond the 6 months he was given when he was first diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer.
It is a sad day here on the big blue planet, but heaven is shining brighter than it was yesterday now that he's gone home.
Please say a prayer for Mike's family, his wife, his two daughters, and his son as well as all of the people that he has touched in his 42 years on this planet.
Godspeed My Friend Mike Friend! Until we meet again...

I had the privilege of meeting and Racing with Mike in the Torn series these past few years. Not a better man on this planet!
My prayers go out to Mike's family and friends and all those who lost loved ones to cancer this year!!
I'm certainly going to miss seeing that 1G gold plate on the starting line at the next race.

I hate to read posts like this. A disease that I hope there is soon a cure for.
Prayers going out from here,
TM
Godspeed to all involved!
I remember a "premix" ,not the same guy ,correct?
Rip mate.
I was always impressed that the dude was struggling so bad with cancer and was still racing. I only met him a couple of times but you'd never know by his personality he had cancer or anything wrong.
The OP mentioned the TORN series. It's an hare scramble/ cross country racing organization here in Texas. Mike was very well known in the pits at the races. That's the series that I race (one of the slow classes). Mike was a really friendly guy. I'm glad to hear he isn't struggling anymore and has moved on to a better place.
