As some of you know, I have a squirrel problem and I've been thinking about getting a pellet gun to take care of that problem since I can't shoot my "real" guns in my neighborhood. Well holy hell pellets guns have changed since I was a little kid, haha! So many choices and options, I don't even know where to start. Anybody have any advice on brands to look into or to steer clear of? I've also thought about looking for one I can pack fairly easily (perhaps foldable) since some of the places I hike in to camp are pretty remote. I also want one that's as quiet as possible. Whatcha got?

I jab a gamo 1000 fps. It will kill an animal up to jack rabbit size no problem at 100ft+. Paid right at 100$ at Wally World.

Gamo!
They have one that has a suppressor of sorts built in. They call it whisper quiet or something.
My kid has the "Bone collector" model. It has a decent scope, and is a freakin' tack driver.
Here's the only drawback: You MUST shoot Gamo pellets, it's too fast for standard Daisy, or Benjamin type ammo. They flutter off, and you won't hit shit with them. It goes 1300 FPS. Faster than a 30 grain .22.

Christ, with all these photos of rifles you'd think you were trying to kill a lion, not a pesky little squirrel. Laughing

Man up and catch them.

Years ago I had a bolt action one. One could load it with bbs and then add in a pellet on the top. It would even shoot darts.

My old Slavia .177 800 FPS is dead on accurate and works great for varmints.

I used to love my Benjamin Air Rifles but anymore they're a little dated. You have to pump them 8 times to get the velocity of one pump on the newer rifles. Gamo are excellent pellet guns. I'll come help you shoot the little bastards. All I ask is for a beer or two. We can shoot the cans if the squirrels don't come around. Hell, we can try to shoot flying or non flying birds also. Anything that moves.

Oh, and your options are either .177 or .22 caliber. Again, I used to like the .22 just because they were bigger but the .177 anymore will do just as much damage.

What about using airsoft guns? I dont really know much about them but at the scuba diving quarry that is local to me, there is several people a weekend getting air tanks filled to use with them. Says its very dependable, quiet and strong.

Not accurate, and the projectiles are too light to damage anything.
