Old skool streetbikes

Anyone into 70's streetbikes? I just picked up this 78 KZ750 B twin for 800.00 bones doing a cafe racer mad max build with it. So far I bobbed the tail and moved the rear section forward and new seat pan plus did the cover on the seat. Lowered the rear and going to pic up some clip-ons this week so I can run the fork tubes up in the trees more. My go pic up this RD350 Yamaha 2 stroke street bike here in a couple days for a "Brat" style build. I love these things.

CB's
SR's
W's all bitchen for cafe or brat builds.

I had a CB350 71' I think. Loved the bike but the mufflers went and I had to replace with loud aftermarket of which only one pipe was available for it. I'll see if I can find some pics of my bikes. I think Ive owned 30 some in my life.

9/11/2012 12:47 PM

Ahh here is me and my 71' CB350 circa 1975. Originally it was red and white but I took off the tank badges and side cover badges and painted it all gloss black and put on the only cafe fairing available at the time. Used to think I was Ricky Road racer on that thing. Had some great times on that bike. Mostly though it was my transportation at the time. I was 25.

I had the exact same 1/4 fairing on my '78 xs500e. I also chopped the seat ala superbike style, made my own rear sets and had a 2 into 1 exaust and clubmans. Fun! Then an '85 gpz 550 for a while then a new '86 gsxr 1100. Cool shot dougie!

Heres a 76' Gold Wing the years without the fairings. Beautiful bike, I bought it in the mid 90's. Sold it cause it was a huge pig. R[img][/img]ode like a washmachine.

This is my favortie bike I ever owned. I got more miles of smiles out of this little POS than any other bike I owned. I bought it for 125bucks. Look at the muffler. I contacted Honda in Gardena to see if they still carried something that old. They had two of them at over 200 a piece. I was poor back then and that was too much so I just rode it the way it was. I ended up buying a second one. My brother and I would wheeling them up and down the street in opposite directions entertaining the kids on the block. Bullet proof bike. The second bike had all the original paint but for some reason I liked the ugly girl better..go figure

I was away from bikes from 77 to 80 but started jonesin. I was a heavy drinker at the time. I quit drinking cold turkey and started saving my beer money, In 10 months I had saved enough for a New Honda CB750F To me then and now one of the prettiest bikes ever. Excuse the hot red Kerker. It was a stage I went thru

What condition is the "soft" foam in? In many helmets they used a softer foam for the cheek pads and one at the top of the helmet. I ask because I have quite a few helments, all have many memories for me and some are pretty cool but I was out in the garage a year or so back and opened a few boxes and that soft foam had turned to dust. Short shelf life I guess. Ive gotta go back an fix the cb 750 post above but photo bucket was giving me fits this morning.

When I bought the 750 in 80' I started to go watch races, mostly Ontario Motor Speedway and Riverside Raceway. I got the bug and in 81' I also bought myself a CB 400T and I took it box stock road racing. But I was giving away 50cc to the guys on Suzy's. So in 82 when the CB 450T came out I had to have one. This is the 450. I raced that thing for years. Id taken out the base gasket to raise compression and that worked up until the day it didnt. I was going into turn 3 at Willow springs rcwy and I was downshifting like a mofo when it threw a cam chain. Locked up the rear end and manged to get the clutch in and ride it off at high speed into the dirt. Ahh the memories

In 1983 Honda introduced the Interceptor and Homey had to have one. I went to the Anaheim Bike show and ordered one. I wanted to be the first guy to have one. The lowers are aftermarket from Germany and came paint matched and it was perfect.

One day I got a hair up my ass and dug out this old motorcycle that was in a few boxes under the workbench. It was an old 76' I think but not sure WR250 Husky,. I put it together, fixed a broken exhaust bracket and the thing just fired up. Heres a few pics of me and the husky at El Mirage Dry Lake, CA Circa ...mid 80's
