I have a hard time believing they would have been able to carry on dancing down the street once they saw the hanging midget. . . I guess it's possible that they didn't notice it in the take.

In both videos "debunking" the myth, they never explain what the hanging thing is. The bird's position is different from the blob that appears to be hanging and they're only misdirecting by saying it's a "bird". Both items look significantly different.

I must have been living under a rock. This seems to be one if those things that has been around and known by a large amount of people. I have never heard this in my life.
