I haven't raced in a while but I thought I would try my hand at this brand new track. We were the first motorcycle club to ride and race it. Here's the noon race on Saturday after 3 practice sessions:

I made a lot of mistakes but I was happy with it. I raced Sunday too but pulled off after the first lap. I got a good start and was running good for most of the lap but then lost my mojo and turned into a road block so I just exited and called it a day. I'm thinking that might be the last races for me.

I dumped all my videos from this weekend in this playlist:

http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLNMb0X23VsFto5-ocgvgL0zzATn7O_O6h

It's all raw footage of Novice and Advanced classes and the races, some front and rear views. When I get the audio from the announcer I might edit up a better Saturday race video. But I was very sloppy so I might just not waste the time. Smile

Just noticed this! Thanks and ignore my comment in the MotoGP thread. Blush

Last race? I've said that a few times and the last ten years have been so busy with other stuff that riding and racing has really been hit or miss. Mostly miss, but it is one of those things I can't get out of my system. I do know that if I had stuck with just the modern bikes, I probably would have been done and gone. The vintage stuff just keeps sucking me in year after year though whether riding, racing or just building something cool. Maybe you ought to give it a try with a vintage road racer? Change things up as there are some really cool and interesting bikes out there.

They even have Kawasaki's!Wink

Void-

I'm a member on a ZRX forum, and they were just talking about it over there too.

You probably were on the track with these guys.

We (MCRA) were there Saturday and Sunday. The STT had it on Monday after we left. I think they're referring to the STT group.

I'm actually thinking about getting one of those new KTM 390s and racing with the 250s. We created a new class that will allow up to 400cc single and 300cc twin. Those 250 guys have a blast.

I use the Contour cameras on the race bikes, although I do have a couple of GoPros I use in the dirt. I mount one Contour on the side of my helmet (it doesn't stick out like a GoPro) and one under the tail of my bike shooting backwards. Here is the rear view of the Saturday race:

I was curious as the GoPro gets a little too much wind resistance in my opinion to be helmet mounted. There is nothing like sticking your head up out of a tuck at 140 mph and letting the GoPro pull your helmet visor up against your nose lol .

Yeah, the Contour is a little more aerodynamic. Maybe that's part of how it got its name? Smile
