Hopefully there's no media glorification for the guy. Probably the biggest reason for emulators.

Still, it just blows me away that "terrorists" have not killed 100 Americans since 9/11, and we will sacrifice our personal freedoms to keep it that way.

Homicides, on the other hand, have taken 10's of thousands since 9/11, yet it is status quo.

This stuff should not even be reported. It is not newsworthy.

It is what we want, and it is totally acceptable.

Right?

Would you not call these events terrorism?

Or is this just another confused and over-medicated poor old white guy going a little crazy?

What dictates using the terrorism label? Is it race? Is it religion? Is it the act they commit?

Great questions.

If somebody has an "agenda" behind one of these actions (start a race war; jihad; ect), I would categorize it as terrorism.

This guy, more than most, just seemed confused and mentally ill. A pellet gun? It is almost like it was "death by cop", more than anything else.

With 300+ million people in the United States, a standard bell curve will dictate that there will be a certain number of folks who are simply "off the reservation", and there is no telling WHAT they are capable of.

If I were King for a Day, I would decree that none of their names (the perps) to EVER be used in a story about the incident. Put them in an 8' x 8' cell, throw away the key, and let life move on with the highest probability of never thinking about that person again. And less of a reason for any form of "copy cat" crimes.

I agree with that, all of it. I REALLY like your last paragraph.
