Thought you guys might dig this (or maybe not).
Gave up his cush job making $100,000/year to go fishing.

We're working in the next few weeks to get together to do some really cool photography for his 2009 resume. Studio and outdoor photos, should be fun.

I'm pretty proud of him and what he's been able to do without having been born with a silver spoon in his mouth.

And another story, there's a big local tourney going on.

Pretty cool, chasing the dream and some success to go along with it!

Good luck to him and his family.

Just an update. My wireless wasn't up yesterday, so here it is. Greg finished in 3rd overall and took home $40,000 for four days of fishing. Not a bad way to pay the bills, huh?

3rd: Bohannan Excited

As noted, this was Bohannan's fifth FLW Tour event, but the fact that he did well in his hometown means that much more, he said.

A thrill for Greg Bohannan was to have made the Top 10 alongside George Cochran, one of his heroes.

"It feels great. I'm real excited to finish that way in front of my home crowd. It's a little disappointing, because I really wanted to win the tournament. I was in the same shape I was in last fall at the Stren Championship, and I had a chance to win that one, and came up 2nd. But these are some of the best anglers in the world, so I'll take 3rd place on my home lake."

About his local advantage, he said it was definitely there. He was fishing pea-gravel points where the muddy water started to turn clearer (as noted, the same type of structure Pack fished), and it was key to know exactly where the right stuff was. But at the same time, the muddy conditions helped others.

"I had a really good year last year – I was really blessed," he added. "I knew I could compete, and I'm just excited to be here. I got to be in the Top 10 with one of my heroes, George Cochran, and it's just been fun all week."

That is badass! Ive fished for bass most of my life, but gave up doing it seriously when I was 20 because I actually thought I was a pretty good mx'erGrin Ive always thought about selling my bikes, and buying a bass rig and going after it again. Especially after getting huet do much the past few years. I live near three different lakes that have local bass tournament circuit.. What a sweet way to make a living, but I bet there are plenty of thin times also.. Must be stressful worrying about making the money. Good luck to him!
