I'm doing recon on purchasing a leather sofa and love seat. I hate shopping for anything.

I'm looking for a good quality all leather furniture. Not necessarily custom, or top-of-the-line but something very nice. I don't mind paying more for a good quality items.

I have bought things from Lay-Z-Boy before. I think they are very good quality and close to high-end. I do not personally care for places like More, Ashley home store, the room store, places like that.

I went to leather creations in town today. Very nice, all custom, and made here in town. It would be around $6,600 for a set.

Has anybody bought any furniture off of the Costco website?

What would a fair pre-tax price be for a sofa and love seat?

I thought I bought leather, about 5 years ago. But it turned out to be that bonded crap, and now we need new again.

Sounds like you know enough to cover that one - I didn't then, but do now.

That likely didn't help your questions, but maybe it'll help someone else.

Good luck!

Our house would make a good costco commercial. We purchase numerous furniture items from them. I prefer to see things in person when it comes to bigger purchases. They always have good quality furniture. It's getting close in the year where they will remove all the summer stuff and the winter stuff comes in. Furniture is a winter item in their stores so you will start seeing lots of stuff.

Laz-Y-Boy leather sleeper sofa in the upstairs area of my garage/shop. Sleeper is an air mattress and is pretty damn comfortable. Picked what I wanted from hundreds of available leathers. Nice and comfy and seems to be well constructed.

Agreed with furniture is always best to see and feel. That's my only hesitation with Costco. They have minimal furniture in the warehouse's here in Phoenix

For about 10 years there was a Costco home store here in Tempe. The place was freaking awesome! The prices weren't inexpensive per se, however there was extremely top quality items for a good price. They closed down probably seven years ago

The key to quality furniture is the foam. Only about 10% of furniture is constructed with high density foam. The remaining 90% is garbage and breaks down in 12 months. The surface material like leather, fabric or whatever is pointless if you have crap foam. Shop foam quality FIRST. Also remember that a high price tag doesn't mean high quality foam.

Can anybody give me a price range for a good quality sofa and loveseat set?

Too bad you don't have Nebraska Furniture Mart near you. Largest furniture store on the planet (the one in KS is, literally).
That volume allows them to sell retail cheaper than many other stores can even buy it for wholesale.
Their television section alone is larger than the entire electronic section at Best Buy by double. It's massive.

What does that tell you? Furniture is one of the highest markups of anything we buy.

I'm surprised there hasn't been a vegan chime in to say not to buy leather and think of the animals.

Carry on...

I like the brand Natuzzi, it's Italian. The set I've had for 20 years is called "brushed denim" and people who come by still compliment me on it. One of my clients has a red Natuzzi lounge chair that I've called dibs on, her kids have no idea what it is.

They opened a NFM up here in North Dallas a few years ago. Truly the biggest single store I've ever seen.

I've been in the furniture business since 1991 and this guy, Ken, has some of the best leather stuff going. He is a really great guy too, retired ex furniture executive that is still doing it because he loves it. https://www.ecoselectfurniture.com

Hardwood frames, full grain or top grain leather and quality foam are three things you want if you want the longest lasting. There are a lot of particle board frame, cheap foam and split or bonded leather crap ones out there.
