I used to sell these Pioneer and Teac and TASCAM but never pulled the trigger. Regret is a terrible thing.

Whatever you do, dont thread that deck up with that old tape unless you are positive its doesnt have the old 'sticky shed' problem from those old days. It will gum up the heads, tape path and pinch roller. And speaking of the roller, if you had that stored in a hot place, that roller might be FUBAR. Be sure to check into that before you plug it in and press PLAY and smash it against the capstan, you might end up with a mess.
Lastly, since its been setting that long, it honestly would be a good idea to put each piece of that gear thru a dim-bulb test so you dont smoke any of it. Doesnt cost much and can honestly keep you from turning a piece of gear that might only need a capacitor or two, into a smoking & sparking belching dumpster fodder.

Do you guys still crank your car to start it, or ask the operator to connect your phone call too? Old people.....
Oh BTW, your iPod is shit, sounds like shit, and contains digital shit. Guess your dad didnt teach you that lesson before you left the house?

If the ICs are an ongoing issued, Id buy a few extras. Once an IC goes outta manufacture, that part will become unobtanium!
That is why ALL my audio gear is pre-1980 and 100% discrete electronics , no ICs and it will always be rebuildable. ICs bascially ushered in the BPC plague and its been that way since.
