An expecting father has ensured he will suffer no sleepless nights when his pregnant girlfriend gives birth - by building a bunker 10ft under his back garden which is capable of surviving the apocalypse.

Former plumber Colin Furze, 36, says he has dreamt of having his own secret lair since he was a child.

So he spent two months building the 16ft x 20ft man cave underneath the garden of his modest semi-detached house in Stamford, Lincolnshire...

I know right, if you're gonna do it properly then you've got to go all all out and do the whole shebang! I wonder how much that cost him to construct.

Hey Green, do you remember years ago some guy on a forum posted about discovering a WWII nazi bunker on his land?

This is the same guy who built the 70 MPH 2 stroke old man scooter.

Interesting! Obviously some of it was just a bit of fun but otherwise I'm actually in favour of this prepping stuff. I see no downside to assembling a few of the key basics in the event of something disastrous happening - a giant underground bunker in my back garden may be going a bit far though.

I would love to bury a couple of those 40' storage containers under ground on my place someday. Would be a cool man cave and could be used as a haunted house around Halloween along with a pumpkin patch grown above it.

You guys would be shocked to see what I had the privileged of working on.

A guy up on the NW hills here in Portland has a pretty nice sized house up there on the side of a big steep hill. He took 3yrs , with cranes and a huge man-hole cover in his driveway...and built a full size gymnasium , basketball court , with a sauna and entertainment room and a long and skinny swimming pool for training. The elevator went down something like 7 - 8 stories and was pretty freaking incredible! I'll see if I can get a hold of someone so I can post some pics.
