As much as I hate the sweltering heat and humidity of summer here in southeast Texas, I really hate the cold. And not that it gets below freezing much, but it's wet and cold. Just miserable. I prefer to sweat.

I'm with ya there. I handle heat a lot better than the cold. I'm a nancy boy when it comes to the cold, but I love all the hobbies that go with the cold. Supposed to get down to 11 here tonight. I'm sure someone from Canada will chime in how that's not cold, haha

To me, almost nothing is worse than sweating.

Moving from Texas to Colorado is the best thing I have ever done, and I ain't never coming back!!!!!

-33 here last Sunday, windchill of almost -50, had to go out and shovel up hydraulic fluid in it. Yes, you read that right. The cooler on my truck ruptured Saturday night, went back to clean it up. Shoveled with my back to the wind, but the wind was blowing down my right glove. I thought 2 fingers felt a little numb, so I started working harder. When I stopped and had that magnificent specimen of manhood in my hands, draining the morning coffee, I realized that I couldn't even feel it. At all. Climbed back in the truck for a few minutes to thaw them out. No part of my manhood was injured in this episode, but rest assured, "Shrinkage" was involved.

Finished the job facing the wind, with a balaclava on, plus the hard hat, with the Snoopy liner. Face completely frosted over, eyes freezing shut, but got it done. Shit goes sideways in a flash in that weather, it's not fun.

Here's an old pic, not from Sunday, just a wardrobe shot.

Ive been doing pretty good this winter after changing my diet. Ive cut out white bread of which I used to have 2-3 sandwiches a day and perhaps 2-3 pieces of jam(i.e. sugar) covered toast. So 6-10 slices basically. I still have 1-2 slices of whole wheat toast maybe at the most every day but no white bread. I always get sluggish and depressed in the winter and making this diet change has helped me maintain better energy and mood. Ive also tried to limit my intake of refined sugar. Less jam covered toast candy bars and more fruits.

Read up sometime on the effects of white bread and how it turns to sugar and effs up your liver and pancreas.

I like the cold because me and my midget play hockey on frozen ponds. But yeah, a high of 9 is a little ridiculous.

Well I'm not a huge fan of the cold even though I have lived here in CT my whole life.
I am going to go somewhere even colder next week though but it should be a f*#king blast.....

Heading here for next weekend...

I can relate to you guys.....

Last weekend we went riding to a new area. Left our jackets safely in the vehicles. We ended up getting lost and found some funny white stuff.

We made it back safely and avoided hypothermia. Everyone can RELAX, thanks for your concern. Smile

Clearly, this guy has seen winter in Saskatchewan. That's in Canada, for the uninformed, or geographically challenged. http://www.cbc.ca/player/News/Canada/Saskatchewan/ID/2607873495/

I actually had someone ask me if I was a Canadian last night. I said "No I have worked with straight Canadians for the last 8 years in various projects and when I moved to the DR all my neighbors and friends are mostly from Canada."

Guess I picked up a tad bit of the accent "eh".

No wonder since I bought the house back in Tejas now that everyone at Lowe's looks at me like I am from another planet and not speaking Merican.Laughing

Sorry, but you won't even receive "Honourary Canadian" status, until you drink 9 gallons of Tim Horton's coffee a day, like almost every one ELSE in this country. Except me, of course, I hate that effin swill. Hang on, BearBoy, (Jarid33loser) should be along shortly, to tell you that stuff is the Nectar of the Gods.

You lucky DOG! I dreamed of riding today, left the house this morning, it was -29C. A vicious wind howling out of the southwest, bringing warm air. Got all the way up to -6C, and went dead calm. That lasted about 2 hours, then it started hammering out of the northwest, bringing in the Artic air again. I bet it's blowing 40 mph out there, supposed to be -20C and lower in a couple of hours. Got to love winter in this neck of the woods. I bet brlatm knows all ABOUT these conditions, having lived in Wyoming.

I'm in erie, pa . High of 5 degrees Fahrenheit here yesterday, last night was -12 according to my truck, wind chills up to-30. Some of it is gale force winds, not supposed to get over 10 degrees all week. January and February are the longest months of the year it seems.

Yes, and you are on the wrong side of the lake. I grew up 5 miles north of it, and still to this day, the sun will be shining at my Dad's farm, and nothing but huge dark clouds down on the south horizon. Having trucked through Erie a lot, I know how hard you guys get slammed.

Yea it's crazy what the lake can cause, we have been really fortunate up to this point only having 1 really bad snow storm, same one that buried buffalo a while back but now it's looking like it's here to stay, the sun is out now but it's only has got up to 5 degrees. On the bright side it's hard to tell the difference between 15 an 5 degrees anyhow lol

It was in eighties yesterday. I got burnt and was shirtless and flops all day on the lake. 50° today but it will be eighties again in a few days. Looks like another year of like ten cold days and the rest in the eighties for winter. P.S. we are all full here. Try Texas plz. Cool

Someone please post some pictures of studded up tires and winter riding scenes. I don't have any. But trust me when I say that there is nothing like riding in the snow with studded tires, nothing else like it.
