Haven't bought a new vehicle in awhile, can't imagine what other information/warning tags they have in them.
Has to be a whole bunch or yellow or red warning stickers under the hood, maybe they label every component now.
The Owner's Manuals must be impressive as well.
Ford crapped the bed with the dual clutch auto that they were putting in the Focus, it isn't hard to imagine them screwing up a manual also. 2 seconds seems like a huge amount of time to wait but they very well could have screwed up a gearbox enough that you would need to wait that long.
The Shop
It'd be 10 pages long and the last words would be, "Good luck with all that".

Pit Row
my first truck was a '90 GMC work truck with 5-speed manual, man i miss that truck. the speedo only went to 90 but then it'd start coming back up the other side. i don't know how fast she'd go but i'm guessing in the 115 to 120 range. the 350 in that truck remains the most impressive gas motor i've ever owned. i love my Eco with auto, but there's something that feels great about manual shift
When men were men.
I like driving manuals in the right vehicle now, but I'm okay not having to row gears in traffic.....
The oddest thing that happened to it was when my wife was in Seattle visiting our son, about 3 hours from home at the time. Driving downtown, a warning message came on that said that the transmission was overheating. Seattle has a few hills so when she called me I assumed she'd been "hill holding" with the accelerator too much. She actually parked the car for a few hours and everything was good for a while but then the warning reappeared while driving on flat interstate.
Had the car towed to a Ford dealer and I call them up to find out what's going on with it. Their explanation was that it was a software glitch and that the transmission wasn't actually overheating. I asked them if the data showed what the max temps had been and they explained that there isn't an actual temp sensor in the transmission, the computer simply calculates what it believes the temperature "should be" based on current conditions.
Got rid of that thing not too much later, despite Ford lengthening the warranty on the transmission.
It'll be interesting to see if Ford gets the automated manual working good. It's been tried many times but never seems to be real successful. A computer just can't operate a clutch like a human
First standard I Iearned on and drove. An old Ford out at my grandparent's farm. Had some on the floor standards with the floor mounted starters too.
Great times.
