The deck on my Kory 5566 was rotted, so decided to put a facelift on the old thing while it was tore down. Four wheel, flat-deck trailers are super dandy to have around. You never realize how much you can use one until you get one.
This is what it looked like when I bought it.
The pin hitch had been jackknifed and bent, cut it off and put on a 2" Bulldog
The tongue pivot also was rusted/seized so cut it out and replaced it
Started ripping off the old deck
Pitched all the rotten crap in burn pit
The main 2x12 frame was treated lumber and just fine.
Pulled off the 2x12 frame off and shot it with primer
Wood frame off
Looked like someone hit an armadillo hole or something in the pasture and busted off the right rear spindle and cobbled in a brand-X spindle and hub. I
Ordered the correct spindle & hub from Kory and put it in like it used to be
Pulled all small parts off
Blasted and painted all the little stuff ahead of time
Took it to a friends shop in town and knocked off the old paint/rust and shot some primer and enamel.
This wasnt a Newmann paint job, this was Harbor Freight paint-can work in a parkin' lot. 8-P
Put new seals in the hubs, cleaned the bearings up in the varsol washer, repacked the bearings and put on new dust caps. New bolts and zerks also while I was at it then aligned the front end. Had no clue how much so put 1/8" out just a sprint car. ;-)
Everything reassembled
Original LR spindle
RR Spindle I replaced/fixed
Gotta put on the new deck next and need to get on it, gonna be making square bales soon and want to use this one.
Will post a few more once its done.

I know exactly the view you are talking about, we stayed in one of those RV spots along the river just like you described when racing the Memorial Day Classic over there. Had a perfect view of the mountain and everything. Sure miss that place.
Cool project by the way and glad to know my thought made a little sense.
Did you have to re-weld that hub bracket or did it just clean up that nice with a wire wheel?

After migging in the new plate/spindle
Looks good.
Getting closer to OEM
Second deck the opposite direction
Done
Test run
Just like my old Tabby, ironically named Scooter. Nothing that little prick wouldn't try and kill.
