Only on the rarest of occasions will I go to a theatre for any movie that isn't two hours long but no way in the warm place will I pay to see a movie that is 90 minutes long.

I am not cheap just want value....you know like timed main events.

I only go to a movie theater on the rarest occasions......every few years! For me I just don't see the value in it! Theaters these days are tini dirty little boxes! Back in the day movie houses were large and had some style and it felt cool to be hunkerd down in your seat watching a big ass screen and you got to see 2 movies! Didn't cost you an arm and a leg to take a family......these days it's about a 50 dollar bill to take my wife and daughter for one movie! I enjoy a good show but most of the time I do it home!

Anything under 90 usually sucks.

I tend to agree with the Sandberm comment overall - if it's good it's good, if it's bad it's bad. In other words the movie's length doesn't really alter whether I'll like it or not. With that said, it is the case that all movies/stories have an optimum runtime whereby going too far above or below can damage the experience "fractionally", though not ruin it. For instance I think many would agree that the lotr trilogy is much too bloated and could do with a severe case of editing down (though admittedly I'm not a fan of it to begin with).

I hate movie theaters so I rarely go. I think the last movie I saw was Horrible Bosses.

I just wait until they are at the dollar show and sneak booze in. Only time I spend any more than a dollar is if it's in a drive in.

One or two a year. The way they come out so quick now and so many, we just wait for them on Direct tv.
I been watching lotr since I was a kid over 30 some years. I want more. Still think the originals are best.

I dont go to movie theaters. Rude fuckers on their smart phones, talking loud, putting thier feet with all manner of disgusting crap on the bottom on the seat-back in front of them, you name it.

I can't even watch movies now. They just don't have the same complexity that TV series have. I like intricate details and stories that are closer to reality. Movies are so predictable. The categorical classification practically gives the movie away. Movies are so generic.

Not to mention, that 3d is the only gimmick the theaters have these days. I have a better picture, a better soundsystem, cheaper food, and I can watch in my underpants if I want to.

BSG it is.

I think the last movie I saw in a theatre was Platoon.

I just get real close to my big screen if I want the picture to be bigger.

Why do people put there feet up on the seat in front of them? Why?...What leads people to believe I want their foot next to my head?

Its amazing how unaware and oblivious people are to their rudeness.

I'm like most here and don't go to the theatre anymore but I had to go about 6 months ago because my 13yr old Daughter and her BF wanted to go see a movie. It was cool because we had time to meet his parents. BBQ this SaturdayCheerful

No theaters for me either. I'm disappointed most of the time. 3/4 of the movies I see I would not have wasted my time had I known. Out of the other 25%, 20% are barely worth seeing. Most of these I watch when I cant sleep. It amazes me that they make so many bad or uninteresting movies. At least to me they are.

As to the topic, I have never paid any attention to how long a movie is.

They seem to be completely out of ideas. Just look how many re-hashes, and sequals come out every year.
So many films have become an exercise in technology instead of focusing on good stories/writing/acting. Too much reliance on CGI.

in order to presumably put up a chase bank and verizon store.

This is the theatre that premiered Star Wars and many others over the years. Century 21 is a huge dome theatre.

Hopefully it gets landmark status and continues on.
Where is Lucas and Spielberg? Or did Madoff get their venture money?

I usually have a 90 minute rule, only the other way. I hate movies that are so long and strung out that it gets unbearable getting through them. It better be a damn good movie to keep my interest for more than 90 minutes.

I am 58 and when I was a kid it was common for movies to have intermissions. Get up stretch your legs use the bathroom get more refreshments and back to your seat for part 2.

I wish they would do that again.
