Any opinions on this truck? I may have a lead on one but have not owned a Chevy in years. Opinions/experiences appreciated - thanks.

1/2 ton? Good trucks for the most part. Usually command a pretty high price for nice ones. Intermediate shaft in the steering column will be the annoying rattle coming up through the steering wheel. Front wheel bearings will go out after 75,000 miles but are easy to change. Power door locks and window motors fail but are also easy to change.

For work I drive a 2003 Chevy Extended Cab. 5.3L with 215K and it still works pretty well but it's been always serviced at 3K miles with synthetic. Still comfortable as hell on the highway, and goes anywhere I need it to go with an aftermarket locking rear.

I had the one of a kind HD 1500 Crew 4 WD (2003) best handling truck I've ever owned. I donated it to the river house and is primarily dedicated to getting us to the shooting range and back, that's it. Nearly 15 year old truck with 150k and the only thing that ever broke/failed was a cluster lamp.

Intermediate shaft drill and tap for a zerk fitting and pump a bit of grease in there. Or buy an exspensive aftermarket. Both work.

By the way a 2004 is better than the new ones.

Thanks...I think! Loved the video btw. It has 125 K miles and is the LT leather trim. Great shape. I think I could get it for about 9K - good deal?

Have a '03 1/2 ton but extended cap instead of crew cab. Had the intermediate steering shaft go twice, also speedo servo motors failed so showed going 120 when going 60...other than that has been reliable. A lot up in the midwest rot the door wells out, but so far mine is holding it up. This is last fall, still looks pretty good for 14 years old
