I was watching Formula 1 the other weekend, and they said that Vettle had an H2 as his pit bike, pretty bad ass,

Yup pretty sure RDs weren't water cooled.

There was an RD350LC, and that may be one, but the frame sure looks like an RZ to me.

Yeah, that was pretty stupid of me... The only Street Bike I ever owned in my life was a RD 400 1977...

It's in this thread http://www.2strokeworld.com/forum/index.php?topic=26001.0

Depends which country it's from. North America, it was labelled as an RZ, everywhere else it was an RD.

(so everyone is right! Wink )

I loved my '77 KH but in all honesty it did have many bad flaws and the (air cooled) RD Yamahas were seriously better bikes. The watercooled RD250/350 were just another HUGE step forward.

I don't think the RD350LC had power valves.

I had an RZ350 back in the day though, and for some reason the cases look different to me on this one.

Or maybe it's just because these aren't black (?)

I think the RD350LC was a bit different than the RZ350s, though. The frames were definitely different, at least on any that I've seen. The bike in this thread had the new "linkage style" mono-x rear suspension, while the RE350LC models had the "original" monocross style rear suspension with the triangulated swingarm. Here's an example of an RD350LC.

The best one I´ve ridden by far is a Suzuki RG500 Gamma. That was as close to road racing you could get back in the day, awesome ride.

This was one of my bikes for 20+ yrs till it got tore down for a rebuild and i lost most of it moving, It had 5 or 6 Daytona trips on it and many hrs of fun! I had the Basonie (sp) chambers and larger carbs, found our what squish was with it to.
