I am not a new rider I have all my life and I was wondering if I should I get a 2014 Kawasaki 250 or 2014 Yamaha 250

I'm curious how the Yamaha runs this year. I haven't ridden the latest and greatest of either bikes but MXA and popular opions say the Yamaha has better suspension and a comparable engine to the kx250f this year.

I had a 2007 yz250f and now a 2010 yz450f. These bikes feel "planted" to the track and stable to me. I had a 2008 crf450 in between and the chassis never felt planted to the track. I rode a 2008 kx250f (with pro circuit suspension) and a 2011 kx450 with nice local shop/reputable suspension work done and it still wasn't as good as my yamaha stuff.

You can make a bike faster, but a good handling bike will help you go fast with less effort- and without wearing you out.

That's just my 2 cents. I'm a bit of a yamaha guy, but I wouldn't kick a kawi outta bed. (And yes, I realize my photo is a Kawasaki... See, I can't decide either! Haha.)

Both of those bikes are the leaders of the class. The Kawasaki selling point is it's power, it's like a race bike straight off the showroom floor. But the Yamaha is right there with it, suspension and durability goes to Yamaha. Can't go wrong with either, go to the dealer sit on them. It's going to come down to comfort, price, and which brand you think is cooler.

What are you talking about? The yamaha stock has more hp than the Kawi.
