new rider which 125 enduro bike is best?

ok heres a bit of background about myself , I have been a fan of moto x for a few years now and a regular mountain biker for 5+ years (downhill). I fancy a go at riding mx/enduro I live pretty far from the nearest MX track so I was thinking of getting an enduro bike as I don't have a full uk bike licence I will be limited to getting a 125cc bike. I've been looking around and so far the KTM Exc125 is looking the best buy for me but can anyone recommend anything else? whatever I get will be second hand & the main priority is offroad performance as I don't have any interest in riding it on the road apart from when I'm moving to and from riding spots. thanks.

You couldn't go wrong with the Ktm. Not because I have one I ride off road, because about 80% of my friends do.

Ive also wondered about just buying a 125 mx bike and converting it all in from prices online it seems It would be the cheaper option.

You missed the best bargain of the last decade when Husqvarna closed out the Italian CR 125\144 bikes. I picked up a brand new 2013 with the 144 kit installed and a 2nd set of plastics out the door for 3600 bucks. Another $350 for an FMF Fatty, rotor guards and 1 tooth bigger sprocket and it's great for woods. Next on the list is a Lectron carb.
