The Start

1st gear until you get used to the starts and then switch to starting in 2nd since it will keep you from having to shift & lose speed right as you go over the gate. Starts are something you have to practice to get the right feel on how to do it. See if your track will let you practice starts by just having someone hold the gate and dropping it for you. If not, just practice in an open field/lot you can ride on.

Always start in 2nd. Practice makes perfect..
