Hey guys, not a new rider at all but I'm about to be a new rider to the great state of Washington when I move there this summer. Will be living in the Tacoma area, just wanted to get up to speed on tracks and practice areas within 2 hours. It looks like a lot of riding options, but most seem to be 50-ish miles away at least. Here's what I'm tracking:

Straddleline
PIR
Evergreen Motocross

Cadillac Ranch (occasional practices only?)

Burnt Ridge MX (looks like no racing this year from the website?)

I heard there's a track near Bremerton?

Of course Washougal, but that's 3+ hours away.

Clark County AX in the winter

What am I missing? Thanks for any ideas or contacts you might have!

Riverdale MX is pretty fun! Sandy/ash type dirt from Mt Saint Helen that blew up in the 80s. You can ride there any day if you call ahead. Just ask if the prep. Very rough if they don't. There's a big track and vintage...

Mountain View MX in Sandy Oregon is an amazing track if you drive south to PIR or Washougal. amazing dirt! It's literally like Velcro!

That's great info, will add Riverdale to the list, thanks!

Do you run intermediate tires like MX52 or do you go full-soft? Washougal looks like a harder base, and I'm guessing I will go there a few times a year also.

I personally like the 32, unfortunately it doesn't last long… I had one set of 52's but went back. You will be fine if you go either route.

If you can wait to get tires until you ride Washougal, there's a lady there who brings her shop in a trailer and sells tires for five dollars over cost and install them for free!
