My 06 yz250f stuck in 1st and neutral

So I just bought a 06 yz250f and I'm coming off a cr85 so I don't know much about four strokes yet . I've had my 250 for about 3 weeks and I've raced it it 3 or 4 times then on the last race I crashed really bad on a triple . I later got up and rode The bike back to the truck and it was perfectly fine . The next day I took it out in my trails in my neighborhood . I rode for a good 30 minutes and the bike was shifting great absolutely no problems and as I was riding back through the neighborhood I stopped and talked to a friend then as I started my bike and went to leave it would not shift it would only shift down to first gear then back up to neutral I don't know much about a four stroke so some help wouldn't really be nice please let me know your opinion .

Could be something broken or bent. I bent a shift fork in My 05 kx250f and completely lost second gear. I was able to shift passed it into third fourth and fifth. Chances are you'll have to split the cases and replace at least a few parts but if I were you i would just replace all the gears and shift forks in the tranny. Maybe have a shop diagnose it for you unless you are able to do the work yourself.

I've bent my shifter and was hitting the case so it wouldn't shift up. I didn't notice it hitting at first and thought my tranny went...

I just took of the clutch cover and found a clutch friction plate was shaderd in 10 pieces . And it Jammed the shifter. What would cause it to shader

Someone never changed it and just rode it until it finally gave out
