Leatt Brace Paralysis?!

Edited Date/Time 1/4/2015 10:02am
(This post is in conjunction with my last post about neck braces.) So, whilst browsing the depths of the internet, I have come on a few people saying that the Leatt brace can actually cause paralysis in the event of a crash. What I mean: SO. The piece that goes down your spinal column is designed to break off before it can reach the stress of breaking bone. But in a few cases this doesn't break off, and breaks backs. The Atlas, however, is split around the spine. So the worry of neck brace related spinal injuries is small. In conclusion, are Leatt neck braces as safe as they really say they are?
