You need to put a helmet on to see if it fits right. Then buy it from wherever, though since you're there haggle a bit to see if the price will drop.

All helmets have different shell shapes. All heads are shaped different.

It doesn't matter what fits someone else with a 57.5 anything.

I'm the same size and all my helmets have been medium. And yes it is a big deal! It needs to fit properly otherwise it won't be doing its job properly when you go cartwheelin'! Best way is to try one on but I've always ordered mine online and they've fit.

Basically there are 3 head shapes - round, oval, and long oval. And obviously lots of variations in between. But if your head is a long oval and you buy a helmet that is built round it will be very uncomfortable and tight. You'll have to go up a size to fit the length but will be loose overall. Fwiw I have an oval shaped head. Fly Racing and HJC fit great in a medium. Thor and Fox fit pretty good but in a large. One Industries helmets don't fit me at all. Arai I believe is oval. Can't remember others. You should try some different brands.
