So, i'd like to get started in the mx world as i'm already an atv owner. Im 15 years old, 5'4,5'', 100lbs, and i plan to buy a motocross next spring so i'll grow up a bit untill then... I'm planning to trail ride and a bit of racing at the local track. I've tought of 150r but I really don't known if it will be too small and if a 250 would be too big. I have alot of atv experience and im a pretty good rider i must say. So, what should i buy ? And also what equipment and gear should i get ?
Thanks alot !!!!

Since you have some atv experience and are an avid rider, I would suggest you start with a 125cc 2 stroke (KTM or Yamaha are the only manufacturers of these bikes) or go straight to a 250F. You will get tired of the lack of power on a 150R and if you plan to race, this bike does not have a class for it!

As far as riding equipment, I found this deal on www.dirtnroad.com on Thor apparel. They make every piece of equipment from head to toe, so you could get dressed for less and all within the same brand! Wanna look like Ryan Villopotto, or Marvin Musquin?… They wear Thor gear!

Even though some people go pretty good on 230s, they are not as serious dirt bikes as the 250s. Engine and suspension.
About anyone at even an off road race on a 230 is usually just playing.

You need a 125 2 stroke at the most. Learn how to ride that and maintain it and then think about getting a bigger bike. At 100 pounds and 5'4 you could ride an 85.

Yep, 125 2 stroke is the way to go..You will love it. And if you get to the point to where ya want more power, add, 2 teeth to the rear sprocket, buy a pipe and silencer and presto, you got a bike that ismore than capable of hanging with a 250f on most any track. .
125's are awsome race bikes..
