Hey guys, new to the forums but not new to riding, been riding since i was in year 2 or 3, on a ty80, went to an XL185s, and now to an XR200r, but i want more go. So i found a nice CR125 for $1600 AUD. (advert here might be blocked website in US not too sure http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-view-details.html?adId=1079593624 ) anyway i read it's a good learner bike, but i'm no learner, i am to 2 strokes though :p Anyway, is it really all that slow, don't want to be falling behind my mates when riding....
Should i just get it and ride it then make changes? Just wanting to know if it is really all that bad.

CR125R slow? compared to your XR200? No way.. Keep that thing on the pipe and they rip. My sons is mostly stock except a pipe and that thing is fun through the woods. They're so light and nimble it's awesome. You just have to learn to use the clutch and keep it on the sweet spot. My sons bike below.

Given what you are riding now, it is going to feel like a rocket ship. Go for it! And just because it is slower than the other 125s of that year doesn't mean it can't give you good lap times and be a solid beginner race machine.

125 will make you a better rider.
