1300 pounds of raw materials, six cylinders full of moving parts, chrome out the ass, custom paint and stripes, mag wheels, reverse, extra disc brakes, tunes, enough wiring and electricals to run a small third world country plus cruise control.....all for about the same price as a single cylinder stripped down no paint anywhere bare bones, 240 pounds worth of raw materials dirt bike?

I believe that "chrome out the ass" is an aftermarket add-on --- not stock.
Saw this while travelling recently........

That is a Honda GL1200. made from 1984-1987....so i would have a hard time calling that thing new
I bet the stator is out on that one, that's why its on the trailer. We did so many stators on those that we had it down to a science we could replace one without fulling pulling the motor and I think Honda paid 12 hrs warranty flat rate and after a while we could get in done in about 8 1/2 hrs not bad because flat rate almost never covers actual time.
Yeah, ok. If that's what he meant, then maybe HE has some issues, if that's the first thing he thought..........:pinch:
Donahue is my last name, I...

Just thought the user name was comical. Accidentally opened the photobucket when i tried to enlarge the pic to see what model that was.
Reverse could be useful on a bike that big. On a 500# bike it can be a little weird in some parking situations especially if you have a passenger on back. Ive never been on a bike as big as that one though so i dont know exactly how the ship steers.
They actually have reverse? On a motorcycle? No shit?
I don't do street but that just seems stupid. Why not training wheels too?
Your right, that...

Your right, that thing must be heavy, those flatbeds normally have an upward arch to them.
I do ride street and have ridden one of those and when it comes time to back one up that stupid reverse sure comes in handy.
I have seen training wheels on one, push a button to lower them and after you are up to speed push a button to raise the wheels. Worked well for the 85 year old guy riding it.Not my thing but the old guy was 6500 miles in when I came across him at the MXDN in Colorado.
Yep, reverse runs off the starter motor. Those old 1500cc wings are pigs but dont knock an 1800 til you try one. Damn things are a blast! Boat loads of power, handle like a sport bike and feel like they weigh a quarter of what they actually weigh. Not to mention you can crank your favorite CD wile railing some turns. Fastest I've ever been on two wheels was on our 04 demo wing back when I worked at a dealer, 137 down the highway wearing my Arai MX/C and spinning one of my Megadeth CD's. lol
If they actually weigh that much that's crazy. My old man scaled his 2008 Electra Glide Classic at 842 lbs. Not sure what his 2013 road glide would be. Prob in that neighbourhood.
Edit: Just checked the 2014 gold wing is 904-933 lbs ready to ride. wow.
Here's my 77 GoldWing, 1100 engine, ported/polished 1000 heads 371 cams, worked over carbs and POINTS ignition lol. It's pretty quick for a stripped down wing.
Speaking of Hondas just got this jem and have never had so much fun on a bike. 100 mph not bad either!

No way that goes 100 mph it might get 100 mpg but i bet it wont go much over 60 mph
