I was wondering the same thing? Sounds like a sick boot and the look depending on the colour is growing on me.

As I understand it, there are no current plans to release them.

As they sit, it takes eight people one week to make a pair.

It's all about growing a brand and creating the demand at this point. I'm sure it's coming.

Pretty sure I know where they're being made and it's not a sweatshop.

i believe it takes that, with them being pre-production.

if they go into mass production, im sure they will find a way to get those 8 indonesian children to work a lil faster.

nike are perfectionists. they wont release it til its absolutely the best it can be, thus maybe such the long development time? i hope it is eventually released. tho it will probably be the sports first $1000 boot.

Im sure they are the best boots ever made, The stuff that they use in some of the basketball shoes such as the kobe 5's, and hyperdunks are cutting edge. If you really do some research. Im sticking with Gaerne's unless nike boots are the same price however.

Who cares, they're the worst-looking boots in the last 15 years of mx, imo. It looks like they just took a finished boot and then dipped the toe into some paint, and thought that looked good. If they just made solid colors (ie white) they would look way better

Eight Chinese children would do 3 or 4 pairs per week for a dollar a day each...

Here's what you can do to get a pair.

Dress up as a medic, go to supercross, sneak in on the track. What for Stewie or Dung to crash (unfortunately prolly stewie). Run over, pretend to be helping him. Take off his boots and RUN

I'm glad they don't release them to the public, makes the people that do have them feel, shall I say? Special, and makes them more noticable when they aren't all over the local tracks.

It may be. But unfortunately it is business....at least for the companies with little to no morals.

True, ugliest boot I've ever seen. I wouldn't be buying a pair.

I don't think sales would go that well, this isn't really Nike's domain. If you look at hockey Nike had to go back to putting ther Bauer name on the skate and drastically shrink the size of the swoosh to get the Bauer market share back. Hockey people seemed to want skates from a hockey company and I think it would be the same with MX boots. JMO.

It bothers me that they have no plans to release something that they are parading in front of us. It feels like they are just pretending to be part of our sport and that they do not intend to do anything but take from it. They are buying the idea that they are into Moto when in reality they are just pretending to be part of the sport.

I do not care what they look like or how cheap they are, I will never buy a Nike product. Nothing cutting edge about Nike except their marketing and propaganda machine. Good question for Dunge or Stewie on Night of Champions would have been;
Voice from phone: "This question is for Mr. Dungey or Mr. Stewart, have either of you asked Phil Knight if he knows the difference between a two stroke and a four stroke?"
Dungey: "I'm superpumped to wear these boots and would like to thank my sponsors"
Stewart: I got to see Kobe at the Nike headquarters.

Wouldn't care how they looked if they protect dungey from that getoff he had last year and didn't break both feet/ankles and are as light as he makes them sound... I would be in, just not $5k in

IMO it wouldn't make sense to spend all that money designing and making a boot that they wouldn't sell. I mean sure it probably helps with advertising because before that you didnt really see the nike logo anywhere on the riders, but i'm sure they spent to much money to not ever release it. they are probably trying to make it more "rare" so they can jack up the price.

I think these are about the ugliest boots I've ever seen. Sure they could be really good but, they are ugly as sin. I will stick to my Gaernes.
