Was wondering the same thing. And....if I'm not mistaken, he's qualified straight from the heats every race so far. For such a staked class this year, that's pretty impressive in itself.

He definitely deserves more support, he's a prime candidate for a fill-in spot for an injured factory rider. That will give him the chance to prove that he belongs there.

It's probably because he has no Loretta's titles idk? Or he is a working man's hero?

He sounds like a tough sob so I bet his lack of support has fueled his fire.

I wonder what would happen with him vs Tickle on the same bike...

Good question. He's been consistent this year, and in the roughest part of the season.

What was the story with his mechanic throwing their sponsors and engine builder under the bus the other day?

Imo. If j hill will be out for awhile. Put weston on the rc race bike. Both suzukis. Give that dude a chance. Hahn tedesco hill wey all have had plenty of rides and chances. I really would to see that dude on a top notch bike. And i think his bike now is good. But not as good as tickles bike.

i think this will be his last year unless he can get support..i read in an interview that hes pretty much shoe-stringing a budget together to go ride.

theres alot of tools out there with good rides who aren't putting in results..

How so? If he's paying out of pocket for everything why would he pay and give free advertising?

You said it yourself "He is one of those guys now" , rides for 2013 were offered in 2012, so now that he's a player, prospects for 2014 will be better for him.

As far as a "replacement ride" goes, yes he's a good candidate, however, sponsors and other commitments may be involved. Maybe racing the series out on equipment he's comfortable with may be better??

i hope hill comes back soon, but if he doesnt, why not put him on RCH.

Seriously though, does anyone know anything behind the scenes? I used to grow up with him and loudog, they are lovers not haters (unless friese or someone like that appears) and i think would be a great asset to a team.

I think Westons attitude is what is holding him back. He seems to share a little bit
too much negative stuff about people who have helped him when things have gone sour.

Does he have a agent ? or need a better one ? maybe he needs somebody with negotiating skills in his corner ? He is doing his part on the track just needs to add the political side of things.

Weston has a nice fanbase in SoCal, enough that the top website of the area, ProRide, has a forum just for him.
http://www.proride.com/smfforum/index.php?board=16.0

In a nutshell, he's racing on a shoestring budget (feel free to donate, there are links on the link), but someone with some money has got to recognize that he's a diamond in the rough. You just know that one team is going to snatch him up and two or three others will be kicking themselves for not moving quicker.

PS- He's quite good at outdoors too. He only raced Washougal and Elsinore last year, yet ended up 9th and 10th in those two races.

in a nutshell, he needs to finish better or where he starts to get a better ride. I like the guy but he doesn't seem to be in shape to finish well. IMO, lose some muscle and gain some stamina.

What???

This week he started the first lap in 15th worked up to 10th before washing out his front wheel on lap 16 and still finished 13th. That's finishing better than where he started, even with a crash, in the most stacked field in SX history!

i seem to remember a couple interviews where he kinda trashed the people that supported him. Don't get me wrong, i'm a big Peick fan...but i remember reading the racerx interview last year (or year before) saying...man this kid needs a PR guy to have a talk with him.

Alan Sheldon then he be fit. Or Armstrong? He needs a job. Nah! He's doing fine without candy. There is just not many rides but a lot of talented riders. See Swede Norén Top 10 results many times. No way josé! He's riding a borrowed bike trying to qualify in Arenacross for Sx. I think if you can borrow a bike and get some parts you got a good deal today. But some riders are not prepared to buy their own bike for training? They say they ride a clapped out bike etc.(riders with bigbuck contracts previus years) Some riders are not hungry enough? If you are in only to earn money then you got a problem today.

Don't get worked up, but that isn't good enough, top 10 for most of the series is what he is needing to do.
If a good team was willing to take a chance with him, I do believe he would be a top 10 guy but until then he has to prove that while on a less inferior bike.

Weston needs to holeshot and lead a heat race for 3 or 4 laps to show everyone that he is more than just consistent, but that he has speed too.

Listen to JT$ comments about Joey Savatgy in his Phoenix heat race from that weeks Racerx review podcast.
