We all have that iconic moment, etched into our mind. That TIME when we realised that this is what we love.

for me it was terrafirma 2, that intro was playing... mcgrath got out of the hellicopter, bag on shoulder, it panned to castillo ranch..........

McGrath passing Stanton at Anaheim and Matasevich robbing Cooper of what would have been his only SX win at San Jose. Both happened right in front of me.

The three I will never forget and made me respect everyone that does this at the top level all relate.
Doug Henry when he broke his back. I'll never forget him flying through the air like that.
Him coming back and winning the title after his horrific injury. It gave me a magical feeling that ANYONE, no matter what, could accomplish anything in this sport.
And
His fox ad. If you ever think you can't do anything or that it's to hard, think about how hard it must have been both physically and mentally to come back from that. I think the same thing about Canard. How can they do that and not be superheroes?

Mine would probably be the last year James was on a kx250 and RC was on the thumper ,watching James ride the balls off that 250 at Broome was just nuts.

JMB jumping out of the hole at gator back. He jumped so far I thought his bike was gonna break in half when he landed.

Johnson getting landed on at gatorback.

Also 1 year at the Pontiac Supercross damon Bradshaw walks over to me and the pro I was playing mechanic for, sits down and just starts hangin out talkin with us for about 20 minutes. 1 of the coolest guys I met in moto

Glen Helen 2003, K-Dub vs RC4. RC4 won the day, but K-Dub made him earn it.

I agree with Kawaboy about RJ being landed on, I was there at Gatorback and watched that go down Sad

Watching Jimmy Weinert do no hander jumps during the Daytona Supercross, 1979 I think.
Watching Pastrana wheelie the whoops at Daytona while looking up into the grandstand.

When I was about 9 years old and TWMX Stone Spray sandwich came out. Was the first legit moto movie I had as a kid, I watched that at least a million times, I still watch it every once in a while. The part in Cainville was my favorite, along with all the guys riding out in Beumont and Reche canyon and at the end when Lano cranked out that gnarly whip. Loved it.

There is a few but the most surreal moment was standing with MC Kiedrowski Mike Jones Todd Dehoop and I think one more rider (Henry?) in Las Vegas the night the lights had gone out and the vibe when we all heard the 250 Main start. I knew I was witnessing history.

NOTE: it has been a few years so I can't put a body part that I have named the riders correctly that boycotted the main but I am about 80% sure.

1982. My dad had taken me riding for a few hours in the morning then we came home to find the Superbikers on Wide World of Sports. I sat there glued to the tv while watching Magoo do his thing as I washed down a grilled cheese with an RC Cola.

1986 pontiac silverdome- guy cooper fly's down from where the track goes up in stands and the big triple is right after the right turn at bottom and he pancakes it completely flat over the triple while looking down at RJ & Bailey who were stopped and watching and they just shook their heads.
1986 redbud 125/500 national- 3 digit privateer rider kurt mcmillen makes a jump out of 2 hills that are 100+ feet apart that weren't meant to be jumped in practice, bailey watches him then tries it too but almost didnt stop for left turn and close to hitting fence.Neither Ward,Lechien,Johnson, bailey, holley etc. would try it but Mcmillen did it most of the laps in both moto's- very similar to length/height of early larocco's leap except it wasn't an uphill type jump just a huge chasm from one hill to the other.unreal height!

Two things:

Watching my dad race at Saddleback Park.
Then a few months later seeing Roger DeCoster, Joel Robert and Sylvain Geboers race on the same track.

Southwick National, I want to say it was in '08, Watching Stew just absolutely fly around that track at speeds that seemed like he was never letting off the stop, just mindblowing.

So many battles between him and RC are etched in my mind that I can't even pick them apart. All of '07 was pretty unreal
