speedo dash stopped showing speed...

Hi ALL I have a 07 crfx and the wiring at the dash shorted out nd blew the fuse. I didn't know where the break was till I got home .. in that time it fries the dash.

I wired up 2008 speedo facomsa brand and it's been working up until last night I had my rear break light wires touch my exhaust and melted. . I replaced fuse and e erything is good except it does not show me speed.. I have checked all wiring and have checked my speedo drive ...

He's asking if shorting the brake out could have affected the speed readout somehow since after fixing and replacing fuse all is good except that.

All I can offer is I had a roadbike that had a similar problem but with the tach.

Found that one short smoked a wire in another spot causing a ground against frame.
Look everything over well. Including melted connectors inside the connectors as well.

The 450x model in the U.S. does not have a speedometer, or brake light or turn signals.
It is off-road only (unless you make some "mods").

I know this... but it doesn't necessarily mean crf because people can always wire up there own items etc so I'm just having problem with my dash

I cut the plug for speedo drive and wired them up as the plug was kind of broken. .. speedo was working then it wasn't. . I now swapped the plug around and it started showing my speed except saying j was doing 189 and 20kmh so something isn't right... does anyone have any dash they are willing to sell... I'm sick of having drama

Odd readings sounds like connection or ground problems.

Maybe test it on a buddies bike?

I will try there speedo on my bike. .. sorry for my spelling I'm using phone and it keeps auto correcting me
