i always wanted to use my cell phone and record the sound of all the different factory racebikes like at anaheim 1. maybe hit the pits and when the mechanics are warming up the scooters make a few new ringtones for my cell. seems kinda lame but then again after hearing all these other lame ringtones i'm not so sure...hell it might be kinda cool if you can get some clean recordings.

JohnT has his CR500 revving as his RT. It's cool. You should fire up the KX500.

It would be cool if they made a phone that could go up to 98 decibles . Scare the living shit out of everyone when your phones rings of a four stroke on the rev limiter .

Who wants a 4 stroke RT? So to answer your question, pretty stupid.

Good to see you are objective.

I have found that usually the phones mic sucks and you can't really get a good, clean recording. Have you tried it on your own bikes?

Is this going to be yet another 4 stroke vs. 2 stroke thread? I thought the idea was cool Bobby, regardless of the strokes.

This is a good idea... I would use one... I want a Barcia rev limitier ring tone... or a 450 national start... that would be awesome... Any thing, no matter the stroke

My son recorded an MPEG of our modded Yamaha Jog on the dyno (5.5 hp and 50mph). It has a Leo Vince expansion chamber on it, and sounded pretty damn cool, but sounded like it was turning about 30,000 rpm on my cel.

If you're going to record four strokes, record MotoGP bikes. That's a sound worth having...

With Firefox and Video downloader, you can capture the audio. Pie.

you can grab a ring tone extractor off CNET. Basically, it gives you an MP3.

Scottie I just used a free program called "Audacity" to record the 6 or so seconds that you are talking about and it is now an MP3. E-mailed it to myself saved it on the phone to my "ringtones" folder and viola......that is now my ringtone.

Mail me if you want and I'll send you the mp3

That is actually a cool idea. I have a F1 car ring tone and that sounds badass.

Bobby, Take the pipe off your favourite two-stroke. Set cell phone to record and drop her into the pipe. Bolt her back up and fire that baby up. After a couple of minutes remove phone and you have the authentic smell of two stroke oil to go with your ring tone.LaughingLaughingLaughing
