On behalf of the President of the United States and the people of a grateful nation, may I present this flag as a token of appreciation for the honorable and faithful service your loved one rendered this nation..........I have never met the Maces but my thoughts are with him and his family.....Sad

Found a funeral home announcement and no mention of Kyle. Here is the announcement:

Specialist Stephan Lee Mace, of Purcellville, VA, died Saturday, 03 October 2009 while fighting for freedom in Afghanistan.

Stephan was born in Falls Church, VA, 11 April 1988, to Larry Mace and Vanessa Mace Adelson. Stephan attended Loudoun Valley High School and went on to join the military. He was part of the 3-61 CAV out of Fort Carson, CO and was stationed at Camp Keating Afghanistan.

Stephan had a love for his family and the people in the community where he grew up. But his laughter and love didn’t stop there. He was loved around the world. His passion for wildlife took him to South Africa, where he formed many lasting bonds. From the lives he touched in South Africa to the brotherly love he shared with his comrades in the Army, he made numerous friends through his travels. He had a smile for everyone. He will be dearly missed.

Stephan is survived by his mother, Vanessa Adelson and her husband Richard Adelson, his father, Larry Mace and his wife Deb Mace, his brothers, Matthew, Bradley, and Christopher, his grandparents, Ted and Kay Petro, his Uncle and Aunt, Pete and Patricia Petro, his Aunt and Uncle, Diana and Lee Janes, and his Aunt Patricia Overend.

Stephan will arrive at Leesburg Airport on Sunday the 11th at 8:28a.m.

Services will be held at the Purcellville Baptist Church www.purbap.org on Monday October 12th at 1p.m. Interment will take place October 19, 2009 in Arlington National Cemetery at 11 a.m.

RIP Stephan

I am pretty sure he had ridden here before. Godspeed Stephan. I have lost a few riders from Fort Carson over this stupid war.
