We left sub-zero temps of Colorado on Tuesday.
We arrived in beautiful sunny So Cal on Wednesday.
We had a great time riding at Milestone on Wednesday. There were a bunch of people there. We saw Nick Schmidt pounding out laps on the baked SX track.
On Thursday we rode at GH. There were an incredible amount of riders there.
Friday, before we left camp at GH, we saw Blake Baggett and Adam Cianciarulo doing laps at the SX track above the GH track. We then went to Pala. It was awesome. Again, many riders...doesn't anyone work in CA? We went to a little place called Rigo's Burgers across from the Casino. I highly recommend the breakfast burrito.
Saturday was practice day for the Gold Cup race. I was pretty tired and sore from the previous days riding, so I went a couple of laps and was done for the day. We watched some REM racing, Antonio Balbi won the pro class. There were 42 total 50+ racers...wow!
Sunday was race day. It was overcast most of the day and made for great track conditions. I was surprised at the small turnout based on the number of riders we saw practicing earlier in the week. I spoke to Troy Lee and Jeff Ward. They both were very friendly. We all had a great time racing. We left for home after the last moto. We drove straight thru (18 hours) to Colorado Springs where it was still very cold and snowing.

The Shop
Guy, Yes, was a great time and definitely worth the $.
Pala was awesome, we don't have that kind of facility here in Colorado.
ob, We had passes for the SD SX, but were too tired to make it. We did watch it from the camper though. Next time you come out this way, let me know. I ride at Aztec and Lakewood all the time. We could do some laps together.
ETA: That's a nice trailer, by the way.
I owned MX Vacations for 10 years and January is the busiest time for moto, The week between A3 and SD SX is especially busy because many travelers from Australia, So. America, Europe and the US can catch 2- SX races and great weather. I always laughed when our customers would then asked "Does anyone work in So Cal?"
Glad you enjoyed So Cal MX Mecca.
mxtinter, haha, that's ironic.
DJ Greg, I didn't mean to infer it was a poor turnout. I just thought it would be larger based on the # of people practicing during the week. Were you the announcer? If so, great job. As a matter of fact, the entire event went very well.
Pit Row
Graybeard, I enjoyed racing with you at Freestone. I will not be going down for the final round. Sounds like you too had a good time playing in the sun. Good luck to you.
I can see you packin now! Lets' take your rig and I'll pay all fuel and entry fees.
