#1 - you're going to get 100 answers, use what you like, I use rotella full synthetic, and change it every three outings

#2 - look in the service manual.

I use GM Auto Track II in the transfer case (08 RM 125), and get a manual for your second question :-)

.... I tried all of them on my RM 250.... grabby, etc (basket good, new oem plates)

-- use to run the Honda stuff on my ole 01 cr 250--- worked great

Worked great in the RM also
-- read/ heard a lot about about ATF-- type F

Looks and feels the same as the Honda stuff
--- Works very good and cheap ( change every other ride, unless abused on a sand track)

-- easily avail at the local O reily's in town

The clutch on my 2t liked the ATF the best. I used BelRay gear saver before switching.

It may not have a specific torque, I know my RM85 manual doesn't list one. Make it snug and you'll be fine as the spring tension helps keep the bolts from backing out.

We used BELRAY light transmission oil when sponsored by them, we used SPECTRO gear oil when sponsored by them. Way back in the day I used CASTROL 20/50 oil. Not sure what your asking about the clutch because like most 2 strokes the clutch & gearbox uses the same oil. BTW we never had good results with a synthetic because it causes the clutch to slip/

Yea it's like 8ft lbs so just use a 1/4 inch drive unless you have an inch lb torque wrench. It would be 96 inch inch lbs if you do .with blue lock Tite.

Like everyone said the slicker the oil the worse the clutch slips. its so easy and inexpensive to change the oil that you dont have to go for an oil that lasts long. just keep it fresh. my rm 125 never liked motul transoil expert. also make sure you use the stock sparkplug even if it costs 5 times more than a normal one. it has a special weld on the electrode. it prevents the electrode from separating and falling into the cylinder and piston top making a mess on the top end to the ponit that i converted the bike into a 144.
