I usually run VP fuel in my race bikes. VPR, Mr12, or U4. I am out of race
gas and dont want to run pump gas in my motors because I have a lot of money
in them. I ordered more VP but it wont be here till next week. I found a store that sells Sunoco
110 and 112 by my house. Can I run this in my four strokes and if I can do I run it straight
or cut it with pump gas?

That is a wide spread of fuels. If your motor runs on straight MR12, running 110 non oxygenated fuel should not hurt your motor. It will not run near as well. I would mix with some non-ethanol pump and it would likely run better than straight 110 and still not be at risk of detonation. The mapping is not going to be right if it was mapped for MR12.

the 110 doesnt have a good curve for MX engines and they are both leaded and way too high octane for a thumper IMO, plus those fuels arent oxygenated either so it will run flat compared to the oxygenated stuff.

ask the guy if he can order you some GTX98 sunoco, its got a great curve and works well in thumpers- it not oxygenated, but thats a good thing IMO since there is no ethanol in it it wont ruin your components and is super stable. no lead either so it wont mess up the O2 sensor if you have it hooked up to the EFI like some people.

My kx250f has a PC motor and is mapped to run MR12. I decided not to ride it today. My other kx250f is stock and so is my kx450. My KTM350 has a C4MX motor. I normally run VPR or U4 in those bikes. I ran pump gas today in the other two KX's and didnt ride the 350 but I want to ride it tomorrow. Can I run the Sunoco or will it mess it up?

Your bike mapped for MR12 will have too much fuel for the other fuels and will probably not have enough timing for the other fuels either. If it is a good race 250F set up for MR12 I would not ride it with without MR12 or possibly Renegade SX4+ or VP Pro6.

Ride your other bikes until you have what your engine builder intended.

Ask Ricky Carmichael and Team Makita Suzuki. They know.

Just another pain in the neck with these fuel injected bikes. Mapping, $12 a gallon fuel, to put in a $ 9000 bike. New technology is good in many areas, but dirt bikes isn't one one of them. Look at all the trick 2 strokes people show on here, for $3500 investments, and you can change the jets in a couple minutes. With all those bikes, built, why are you even asking this? You should know what you can, and can't run in them.

Unless you are the a top amateur or pro, why would you even bother with race fuel?

reliability. pump fuel is utter junk for a race bike,

my 2-stroke wont do more than a few laps on pump fuel without blowing up.

i dont want to rot the EFI system on my 450 either.

This has to be the dumbest thing I've ever read. Wait I said that yesterday too, and the day before, and the day....

I have run the pump sunoco 110 and 112 in my 350 and crf 450. I didn't notice any gain or loss of power over 100% 93 octane shell. But no it won't hurt to run it. With u4.2 I do feel a difference over the pump and sunoco gas though for sure. fwiw the 450 is stock with the exception of a pipe, and the 350 has a bazzaz fi controller and pipe, so your mileage may vary.

I run 87 octane Sunoco pump gas in my 2006 RM 250 with Yamalube R oil. Runs great for me. No detonation and bike runs crisp.

No more than few laps on pump gas - that sounds like rider error to me.

Good to know manufactures build bikes that can only run a few laps before they blow up on pump gas.

What exactly is so fragile in the EFI system it would "rot" because of pump gas?

MR12 is 93 octane. If you are out of MR12, your bike will run fine on pump premium. It just won't make as much power.

Traditional high octane. non-oxygenated lead race gas is a total waste of money with modern 4-strokes.
