Covington mentions it being like tracks back home,no eonder he likes the place, great ride from him
The Shop
Looked like he started to find a rhythm a bit later...
36 motos to go.
seems like everyone kinda finished where they started.
that being said RV2 looked a little off the pace.
I really miss seeing the Qualifiers live - they were great to see the tactics of various riders - some go for it as if it were a GP, some try out multiple lines, some just cruise enough to get a reasonable gate pic. Others, are Kamikaze for a good gate pick. Luongos a rip off merchant, in so many ways.............
By the way, Brazil has been given a week to sort out their problems by Luongo the Drongo - he says they have a Europe based GP ready to take it's place, plus, Latvia is all set.
If you have a look at most of the riders (in any series, or your local tracks), you'll see that most of them limp. They / We all accumulate injuries, and very few of them / we don't have a shedload of scars, internal hardware, and myriad twinges and limps. Just things as simple as extension stops on knee braces will make blokes walk 'funny'.
That reminds me - I hope to see a bit more on these Mobius Knee braces Villo is using, soon. Always interested in alternatives, but I always go back to custom made CTIs - no "off the shelf" brace gets near fitting my bent legs.
He definitely seemed to be leaving himself a lot of room around the other riders taking alternate lines. Smart move until you learn their mannerisms and etiquette.
Gutted.
Remember when Desalle raced the Colorado round in 2013 for a 5-7 finish and Strijbos went 10-8?
Do you really RV has lost that much speed?
Pit Row
Who'd kick that outa bed?
Each to their own though
With Osbourne and Roczen a couple of years ago
No need to diminish the rides of desalle and strijbos- they both rode great to say they were doing it for fun on off weekends (from their full time series) - you neglect to mention the fact desalle has also had 3 podium finishes in motos in the states too (also on borrowed equipment, on off weekends from his main championship)
rv should be right there when the race starts in 2 hours. I think he will finish around 4th/5th place this weekend. Dont think he will be fast enough to beat nagl, paulin, desalle and cairoli at the first round...But I certainly wont be betting against him winning a few motos this year either
