is he a substitute for cooper at mxdn in case he gets hurt?
fun? are they allowed to have fun? i heard rumours but never believed it. Silly

With his lanky build, he has a very similar riding style to Romain Febvre. Plessinger could promise to be an absolute beast on a 450

Plessinger WILL be a beast on a 450, I honestly would pick him over bagget on a 450 (matthes hinted he was the back up guy) for mxdn. But I'm sure many will consider that thought taboo Grinning

We're going to need a back up... That's 5 crashes in 3 weeks for Webb on a 250...

I was kind of hoping we had a chance of winning the des nations with some consistency...

edit... bad grammar...

I've even started a thread that didn't get any where about plessingers taking over the sport. Scott was a badass, and now his son Aaron is following his steps as a badass in the motocross scene. I am a huge fan of this kid...

I agree. If you win a national in your rookie season and your dad is a connected former bad ass himself, it's pretty much inevitable that you're going places.

I'l even re-quote that. Plessinger is going to be a great addition to the 450 class I think when he finally moves up. Some guys just need to find options to get them out of the 250 class as soon as possible. Mookie comes to mind , Josh Hill , ect...

Some guys aren't built for the 450's though , but Plessinger doesn't fit in that group. I see great things in that kid.

It helps when you ride the 250, too. You ride a 450, then get back on a 250 and it feels like you're riding a pit bike. Lap times usually drop, so it definitely is an advantage to do it once in a while.

He's definately going to rip on a 450. I admire his style from the moment I saw him in Moto 6. Great segment by the way, well worth watching.

You should be a trainer to the stars with insight like that

If i was Yamaha i would not be happy with RD eyeing up all my young riders. Looks like ktms best rider coming down the pike is Jessy Nelson.

Don't be a douche. Dx3 is right. I like to go ride my dads 450, because it does help me on my 250.

Awesome seeing AP win on Saturday. Rode a brilliant race. Hope he makes the switch to the big bikes look easy!

I have noticed that very often when a rider first moves to the 450, they can rip the holeshot like nobody's business. Cole Seely was a great example of that when he moved up. He was holeshotting and getting very close on his starts. Another more recent example is Bogle. He's been doing very well on the starts.

Wouldn't surprise me a bit if he's an alternate for the Des Nations. That would make sense. A Yamaha rider? Check. A rider that can ride both 450 and 250? Check. He is the logical alternate since he can slide into any of the three spots.

Yamaha is definitely throwing down some money for this event. Makes me wonder if there were decisions based on that.

I'd like to believe it has something to do with the fact that Jeremy Martin is our 250 Champion, Cooper Web is clearly our 2nd (if not our fastest) 250 rider, and Barcia is our fastest 450 rider (willing / able to race this year).
