I've been around forever and that's my first read---although I had heard tales.... Outstanding piece and a helluva of a good story!

Truly old school-----love it, Chief!

That was awesome man, really enjoyed it. I hope the pictures can be re-added.

My favourite
"He is swapping damn near trackwide. I follow so I can get my timing down. It’s like a revolving door your gonna run through with it hitting your ass. "

Love it Laughing

Things like the tear off ripping, realising the bikes not ready when your just about to take it out, annoying kids in the pits, the bike shifting itself in ruts, hands cramping so much you resort to four finger clutching...any weekend warrior can relate!

That year was the best time I ever had there.

I was alone, parked off to myself even though there were campers all around i knew no one.

I was there just to rsce ,no beer tent or hanging out. I've always been afraid to eat anything other than what i brought so I just did my moto, spectate and lay down.

Guess i should tell the story of my regional that year and johnnyjetski trying to take me out for 6 motos to keep me from qualifying.

Good times

That was awesome hillbilly!!! I'd love to hear some more stories. You sound like me and my buddies. Whatever it takes just to ride.

Great read Hillbilly, I know Earl is a beast in the 50+ class, so huge respect! Appreciate you sharing the tales. Would love to sit trackside at LLs between motos and sip on a good Kentucky bourbon one day! Dare to dream!

Hillbilly rode HUSQVARNA before it was cool to ride HUSQVARNA
Thanks all,

And yes,I raced the 87 husqvarnas ,the last ones made in Sweden. Had a 430 and a 250 but for part of the year I used a 86 250 because the 87 was late getting to the shop i rode for.

All the CR models used the same frame and engine cases, from 125 to 500. Husky had been shoved aside like a red headed step child by the then owner of the company ,Electrolux.

I was told that cagiva was buying them out and figured at my age,24,this might be a way to get free bikes since no one would ride them.

I gave the shop owner my 85 ktm 500 to sell and took the huskys home.

Cleaned up on ever series around that year, mega series, top gun, D29 (nc&sc which was huge then) and david Bailey's track series. Then got 8th at LLs and got my free bikes for 88.

Hauled 6 bikes in a very good school bus i picked up for 2k

Good times......
